"Out exploring the area while visiting friends in Murphy Hot Springs, and stumbled across The Trading Post. The Murphy Hot Springs and Jarbidge area is super remote, and this little grocery is the only option for quite a ways so we stopped in to see what was available. I was immediately offered a hot cup of coffee upon entering. What a treat! Service like that doesn't happen anymore. Furthermore, I was delighted by how much this little place could pack in. There was fresh produce including avocados, lemons, and potatoes. She carried a decent selection of fishing gear and the regs, as well as tarps and flashlights and other small camping items. There was an awesome assortment of ice cream for those hot Nevada days, as well as beer and other alcoholic beverages. As the road at the end of town on the Elko side was closed for winter, we intend to return in summer and finish the trip. I'm planning on making a pit stop at The Trading Post just to support their business. What an awesome little spot."
