"I’m writing this at 4:30 in the morning, after someone else’s alarm clock went off in a different room at 4 am. Hotel is poorly designed, with an open interior centered on a cavernous, faux marble lobby that amplifies noise and keeps you awake. Every single time, without fail, my keycards would not unlock my door. I had to go downstairs six times to get someone to reprogram my keys. On the fourth of four nights, I came back to the hotel with my son and his girlfriend, to eat some takeout. As usual, my card keys failed to work. There was no one at the front desk, as was common, so I rang the desk bell multiple times and even used the lobby phone to try and reach someone. No luck. So, we sat down at a table in the lobby to eat our food. An adjacent room offered self-serve snacks and drinks that can be charged to your room. The second my guests grabbed a drink, a woman immediately appeared out of the back office where she had been when I was previously ringing the bell and calling. Before I had a chance to ask about my keys, she interrogated us about the items we took from the “market” room, and what room I was in. Priorities, I guess… In the room, the desk chair was coated in a sticky substance that I assumed was a dried soda spill. At least, I hope that’s all it was… The bathroom had no working exhaust fan, so be prepared for a fogged up mirror after your shower and lingering smells at other times. Lastly, be aware that this is a “pet friendly” hotel. It took me a while to figure out why I was suffering from allergy symptoms in February, when it was raining and snowing outside. This was my fault, for not considering this. But it’s not something I usually think about. The good thing about the hotel is, it has reasonable rates for weekday stays and was less than a mile from the college and downtown area. The freshly baked cookies at the front counter each night was a nice touch, too. If you come here, just remember to bring earplugs, sleeping pills and antihistamines."
"We stayed here for 4 nights. Overall its an okay place, but I would pay the extra and stay at the nearby Holiday Inn Express, which is where we normally stay. I chose here because it was a bit cheaper. Overall - In need of more renovations. Room -- a little musky. Old, dark, tub with bad stain. Chair had coffee drippings that had to clean. No shampoo. Soap, conditioner, body lotion available. Beds comfortable. Fitness room - Not good. Only 3 things: treadmill, bike and elliptical. One weight bench with only weight balls. Treadmill incline not working. Elliptical footpads too far apart. Breakfast - Mediocre. Basic. Two types of bland cereal. White bread and biscuits. Eggs, sausage and make your own waffles. Old fruit. Yogurt. Coffee is good, but it seems that they do not make fresh coffee everyday. One carafe was nearly empty and all served lukewarm coffee. Service - Front desk is okay. Housekeeping did not replenish used supplies. They gave when I asked and were nice about it. We left tips, anyway. Location - excellent. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Near University of Idaho."
"Our family needed rooms for graduation weekend. I find it insane and infuriating that La Quinta, plus other area hotels, raised their prices 300% for that weekend. We had to pay $440 per room for that weekend. I find this highway robbery, cruel, and unprofessional. In addition to the unfair exorbitant price, the hot tub was down for maintenance (of course!), the stairs had clumps of dried mud on them, with more dried mud in the hallway. For such prices, I would expect clean carpets. The toilet in our room had a yellow ring around it for lack of proper cleaning. The shower had a poor spray, there was no hot water, and the pipes made a shrieking sound. The bathroom also had old crud in the corners of the tub and floor. We had three rooms and NOT ONE of the rooms had soap - no hand soap and no shower soap. Front desk provided it for us only after we asked, and we saw another party also asking for soap. This is unacceptable. The breakfast was barely above the minimum. Biscuits were hard and dry as if stale. The orange juice was rancid. I do not fault the front desk girl, though it would have been nice if she had smiled. She was young and seemed inexperienced and too young to have learned to be professional. I also do not fault the lady serving breakfast, as she is simply doing her job. Please beware of this sub-par hotel. If we had paid typical hotel prices, I would not be surprised at the sub-par conditions. Management, please take note. Thank you."
"The service and location are great. The room we have is dark and dreary. The bathroom is more of a dim glow not a real light. I couldn't apply makeup it is so dark. The faucet in the bathroom sink is a forceful sprinkle that gets water everywhere every time you use it and you have to wipe water off the floor."
"The hotel was extremely loud. The doors and walls are thin and you can hear the entire hotel getting into their rooms. Breakfast was mediocre, there was a large wet spot in the carpet when I checked in and a stain on the ceiling. I was willing to look past all of this until I got a call notifying me I needed to check out a night early. I was in town for work I made reservations about 9 months in advance, my boss called about 6 months ago to add a day to the reservation, I called 5 min after he did to extend my reservation as well. His was done correctly and apparently my was moved a day early but not extended. I trusted they did it correctly. My reservation kept changing but looked correct. After they called me I rushed to find another room, it was game day in Pullman so somewhat challenging to find a new room last min. I had all my stuff set up in the room for our football and alumni association member activations set up in my room. I was scrambling to find a room and people to cover my football activation and pack up. The team was less than empathetic about their mistake and allowing me to repack and get all my work stuff out of the room. I asked for 10 min and she told me no, I asked for 5 she hesitated and I was like please let me put on my shoes. While she repeated several times she understood, she clearly did not understand or have any empathy for their mistake. Let me know I was keeping the housekeeping staff late. (It was 12:30 in the afternoon) I asked them to allow me to grab my things. She mentioned I could talk to a manager but that was not helpful. When I checked out I explained that I was extremely frustrated to the manager when I checked out and the only response was asking me who I spoke with, I adjusted my reservations 6 months ago who remembers who they spoke with? Also, had if I did have a name it would magically solve the problem. She just said "sorry for the inconvenience" offered no discount pr alternate solution, or even wyndham points. They claimed they were full and had no vacancy, which is why I HAD to leave. But when looking online you could book a room. So they kicked me out for literally no reason, as I was always willing to pay for the extra night. I travel to this area often for work and will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Best Western was able to accommodate me and was much more helpful."
