"The most expensive store I've ever been to as a grocery store whoever the owner is is literally marking up prices by two to three dollars on everything a bag of burritos cost almost $4 at Walmart but it harvest food they're $8 along with everything else overly priced products I get convenience but do you have to rob me at the same time? "We are regular customers at Harvest Foods on Trent. And when I say “regular customers” I mean several times per week. Am I particularly pleased that we go so often? No. But it is just so convenient that we can’t resist. Harvest Foods is like a throwback from 30 years ago. It has a certain neighborhood charm to it. That is not to say that the prices are the equivalent to 30 years ago. Heck, the prices aren’t even equivalent to what you will find at Walmart or Safeway. Yes, you will pay more for groceries at Harvest Foods. I like to think of it as the convenience fee for shopping there. You see, we live in a nearby neighborhood close to the store and quite often when we need just 2-4 items we will go to Harvest Foods. It saves us the hassle and headache of venturing down Sullivan or riding Trent all the way to Argonne. Okay, back to what I said about not being particularly pleased about us going there so much. I think if we went once per week I would be fine with the uptick in prices but we need to do a better job at getting most of our items at Walmart at the beginning of the week so we don’t need to resort to going to Harvest Foods 3-4 times per week…cause it adds up. With all that said, the staff at Harvest Food is wonderful. All the cashiers are sweet and kind. They always give stickers to my kids. They are also always pleasant and knowledgeable when I ask them where something is at in the store. Their candy selection is pretty vast which is fun because sometimes when we need something to do, I will reward our kids for good behavior and we will walk to Harvest Foods and they will pick out a couple of sweet items. The only thing more impressive than their candy section is their beer section—seriously, it is superb! One final thing to add. I have never gotten the impression that Harvest Foods offers the freshest of items. So just keep that in mind. I wouldn’t make it your produce destination. But if you need to make a last minute stop for spaghetti sauce, a 6-pack, pint of ice cream, or box of cereal, Harvest Foods is probably your place."

"Twice I have had horrible experiences at this store....the first time I had the blonde turtle looking lady lash out me for giving her a hundred dollar bill ...she told me we are not a bank...at a time when money is almost non existent in most people's lives....today she didn't give me a recite and I had two frozen foods and a bag of sour head candies somehow not there or in my bags...shop at your own discretion....by the way today I paid with change hmmmm...turtle up highest prices in town and rude service...very disappointed...went back in today 07-19 to try again the following pic shows the lack quality.. won't be back!!!!?!"
