"I absolutely LOVE this restaurant and try to come in when is am in town. I was very disappointed that the hours they are actually open differ from the hours posted online and therefore missed being able to get my favorite Beef and Cheese Sopapilla by 4 minutes. The website states they close at 7 pm and they close at 1:30 pm. Wildly disappointed, but will of course be back for their amazing food next time I am in town. If I would've been able to get my sopapilla it would've gotten a five star review but I am hangry while writing this. Bummed about incorrect hours being posted online. Please fix this so that others know as well."
"Place is dirty inside, carpet roached, not a great feel. Sopapilla looked and tasted like it was fried in oil that should have been changed long ago. No salsa, guacamole, or sour cream included in our take out. Would not go back."
"Unique ground beef and cheese sopapillas: for 20 plus years, I have been a patron of the La Familia. One of my favorite things on the menu is their beef and cheese sopapillas. As far as I know, this is the only place in Colorado (and maybe in the United States for all I know) where you can find sopapillas stuffed with ground beef. Other Mexican restaurants offer chimichangas stuffed with shredded beef, which is probably more authentic Mexican, but the seasoned ground beef with melted cheese in a crisp tender sopapilla dough, is a worthwhile culinary experience. I have each bite down to a science; start with a hamburger dough piece and spoon salsa and sour cream on top. Save the outside crust for after and enjoy! Or indulge yourself and start out with a piece of the crust with honey while the crust is still warm. As far as atmosphere goes, the restuarant is small town, but clean, and our waitress we had for our last visit was very accommodating and friendly. There are plenty of other items on the menu, along with a daily special, but for me, it's always been the beef and cheese sopapillas."
"Great place to go eat! They have been making stuffed sopapillas here for over 50 years!! That is incredible to think that a slice of american history can still be found! Talk about the American dream! It has also been family owned and operated for the same amount of time. Absolutely incredible. The staff is always friendly and the service is very prompt. Fabulous food and they are always offering new and tasty specials. Thank you La Familia for always being open and ready for business!!!"
"I am the owner of la Familia. I would like to express my dearest apologies to any of the bad experiences in the past. We also post new specials everyday. We have a new staff that is wonderful and polite. We have also updated our systems to accept credit cards. We love to hear your feed back to help us keep improving our service and food. We hope to serve you agian."
