"Dr. Kilkuts and the whole staff was amazing throughout the entire process. I was incredibly nervous about the sedation (I hate needles), but I never felt like anyone was annoyed or made me feel like a burden when I asked for extra support and I was even prescribed something beforehand to help me relax. The surgery itself went great, and overall my recovery was really smooth. Dr. Kilkuts checked in with me later in the day after my surgery to make sure I was doing okay which I appreciated. I had a follow up scheduled for a week after my surgery, but before a week one of my sites started hurting pretty badly and I was convinced I had dry socket. They were able to get me in within an hour and another doctor assured me it was just because my mouth was so small and one of my wisdom teeth was at such an angle that’s why it was hurting more. The techs were great and very kind and helped me figure out how to use the syringe to clean the sockets out, something else that was uncomfortable for me. They kept my follow up appointment and at that one assured me that everything was going really well. I was still a little nervous about my discomfort level, so they generously offered me another follow up appointment in another week for a final check in. The whole process made me feel confident that my mouth was in good care and healing well and properly. A few weeks after my procedure I received my EOB from my insurance and noticed that I had paid Owyhee about $90 more than what my insurance said I should owe. I was pretty sure I knew what had happened and just needed to call to hopefully get refunded. I put that off for several months as life gets busy, and then lo and behold I get a check in the mail four months after my procedure with my refund. I really appreciated that, as a lot of places will just sit on extra money unless patients specifically ask for it back. This office truly values their patients experience and wellbeing before, during, and after their procedures. While I don’t expect to need any more oral surgeries, I would definitely recommend Owyhee to anyone in need."
"Dr Malin and his staff are amazing! My son has been a patient of Dr. Malin since he was 2 1/2 years old. We could not have found a better Oral Surgeon!"
"I felt very well taken care of. My surgery was handled cleanly and professionally. I felt like my doctor cared more about my well being than getting paid. My doctor even personally contacted me to make sure I was doing ok after the surgery. I recommend this place to anyone who needs oral surgery."
"Dr. Killkuts was awesome considering I'm deathly afraid of dentists/surgeons. I went to sleep and woke up with a successful surgery. Minimal pain. I recommend this office 100%. The pricing was very fair as well. Thank you Doctor Killkuts and all the staff at this office for making my visit stress free. 5 stars."
"I want to start this review with, the doctors here are outstanding and I cannot say enough good about them. If I were rating the doctors, it would be 5 stars. However, the billing section is a straight one star. I was referred to this office for implants that I needed. I had been putting these off for years being that they were rear molars and were not really a pressing issues. I have had braces as an adult twice (at $5k each) and my teeth had moved, even while wearing retainers. I was adamant that I was not going to spend another $5k per implant on teeth that I had already spent $10k on. I explained this to the front desk / billing gals and they were all, "Oh ya, it will not be anywhere near that, you are looking at more in the $3k range." I went ahead with the first procedure, when they were done, they handed me a bill for $3k (+/-) and told me I needed to go back to my regular dentist to have the tooth made and put on. They told me this was not included and I would have to see what the dentist was going to charge for the remaining portion of the process (another $1500 +/-). I reiterated what I said before we started about not spending $5k per tooth. They told me, "well our part isn't $5k." They asked me if I read the treatment schedule (pricing) when I agreed to have the work done. I told them that I had not seen a treatment schedule and if I had I would not have moved forward with the service. They apologized and said they would be sure to give a breakdown next time. GOT ME! A few months later my 15 yo daughter went to the dentist and was told that she should have her wisdom teeth removed so they didn't become impacted. They said it was not pressing but we should have it done. They again referred me over to these guys. Like I said in the beginning, the doctors are great & in my opinion, the best around. I went over to their office and spoke to them about removing her wisdom teeth and asked them if this was something that was covered by my VA dental plan. They checked into it and said that the VA would pay almost 50% of the total cost ($2,042). I booked the appointment and took my daughter in to have the procedure done. As always, my doc did a great job and we had no complication. I paid my part of the bill up front ($1,170) and we went on our way. I then get a bill for an additional $872, which in all honesty I just left it on my bill file, being that insurance typically takes a while to pay and the invoice said "Insurance has paid" (see picture below). Some time went by and I then received another bill. The billing office told me, "Your insurance has a 9 month waiting period and will not pay the bill." I explained what I was told at the time of service. She said, "well if you read the treatment plan, it states that you are responsible for all costs if insurance refuses to pay." I explained this was not a treatment that "needed to happen" and could have waited. She said, "I'm sorry, we checked it online and the insurance company showed it would cover it but after looking into it further, there's a 9 month waiting period. We will send you another bill this week with $90 taken off." I received the bill two days later (yesterday) and not only was the $90 not taken off of the bill as she described, there was a nice note on the bottom that said, "Remit balance upon receipt to avoid further collection processing." Which I will say, paying the bill is not an issue, I can afford the treatment. The issue with me is that this entire procedure was based off of the information that they gave to about insurance covering half of the procedure. I know what some will say when they read this, that I should have called and checked everything out for myself before agreeing to the service. I guess I just expected the people that do this everyday to be efficient in their job and to be forthright with you from the beginning. Check will go out today for the full amount, nothing will come of this except the lesson we all learn in life, which typically hit you in the wallet."
