"Pet owners beware! An average 2-star hotel on the edge of town. It's a bit of a walk to get to restaurants or shops downtown near the lake. I am a Diamond member and have stayed at many Best Westerns in the Pacific Northwest. This one is average at best. Rooms were clean, as expected. All appliances worked. I'm a longtime fan of Best Western for their pet-friendly policy. This hotel is NOT pet friendly. They will allow you to bring a pet for $42 PER NIGHT (2024 prices). This charge is not indicated during the online billing processes. If you book a non-refundable room, they will hit you with the additional fee at check-in, which you can either pay or be out the room charges for your stay. After returning home and noticing the additional charge, I called the hotel and spoke with the manager about removing the charge for one night. She was rude, talking over me constantly on the phone. I've never had such bad customer service from a Best Western employee. The issue was not resolved. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you are traveling with a pet. There is a much more 'pet-friendly' and customer friendly across the parking lot at the Motel 8 where they won't try to nickel-and-dime you. I hope that a manager replies to this review and explains how sorry she is and how forthright (not) they are about pet fees. Check the website for yourselves. As for ALL OTHER independently operated Best Western hotels, I think you are AWESOME. It's just this one that falls short."
"My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the suits and I’ve never been more disappointed in a hotel than I was in this one. For the price we paid we both agreed we might as well stay in an airbnb next time. The jets in the tub are broken, the clocks are all set to the wrong time, there were no towels at the pool, and several of the handle pieces in the bathroom were broken and completely crooked, and the curtains and walls were dirty. For the price, I’d recommend staying at one of the other hotels in the area. This one isn’t it."
"We were never planning to stay in McCall but our radiator blew (plus many other things) mid-blizzard so we had no choice. Luckily for us, this location is right across the street from the best mechanic in town (Valley Auto-McCall). Breakfast was extensive and delicious, they had treats for our dog, great TV options (tons of movies), nice looking pool and spa, and were a five minute walk from the grocery store. The desk clerk, I believe his name is Jed, was very accommodating and kind. Super nice people in this town and a very nice and clean hotel. Thank you Best Western McCall!!! ❤️❤️"
"What a fantastic experience. it was one of the most peaceful and joy-filled hotels I've ever stayed at. Everyone, from the front desk, to the wait staff, cleaning staff, breakfast cooks, were just smiling, joyful, happy to be there and ready to serve. It just made the entire property feel so welcoming. The lobby was beautiful and accommodating, and everything was clean. Lovely stay!"
"Best Western McCall was my home away from home for a two week work assignment this fall. We were immediately impressed by the attentiveness of the exceptionally welcoming and helpful staff, who were quick to resolve and respond to any needs we had. In particular, JJ and Jessica did a beautiful job of checking us in and making us feel like family throughout our time here. Jessica pre-printed our receipts so that our check-out process as a group was extra quick and smooth at the end of our stay. Theresa working night shift was equally welcoming and attentive and all three of these folks always welcomed us in and wished us good day or good evening when we went out. The housekeeping staff did a superb job behind the scenes of keeping the place clean and tidy and providing high quality room service - thank you! This hotel offers some amenities worth bragging about: first and foremost, the pool area on the ground floor is 24-hour access (definitely uncommon), includes a generously sized jacuzzi hot tub AND best of all - a bonafide sauna room. What a luxury and a blessing to be able to soak in the hot tub when I couldn't sleep (as Theresa suggested!) and soothe my tired muscles in the sauna after a hard day of work. The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was quiet at night and the whole place - including the beautiful sitting room on the main floor - feels cozy. I liked the rustic lodge ambiance. I also appreciated the coffee & hot water / tea bar available around the clock, complete with Sweet Dreams Bigelow tea (mint chamomile herbal tea) for winding down in the evening. The complimentary breakfast is decent. I supplemented with my own sugar-free yogurt, bananas and granola. The location was superb - walking distance from Ridley's supermarket and Natural Grocers, with downtown McCall roughly a mile down the road. I liked not being right downtown - perhaps a little quieter that way, just a quick drive to the lake and all the restaurants of the town center. Thank you to the whole team of staff at Best Western McCall, and I look forward to staying here next time I'm in town."
