"The bowling lane broke and we could not finish our game. Manager working came over and insinuated that buttons we pressed broke the bowling alley. Then when we could not finish our game he sent us up to pay and they were going to charge us full price when their equipment broke. The girl there was really nice and she couldn’t do anything about the decision and we could not get the manager to speak to us again because he never came back to the front. Poor girl called back on behalf of him and apologized but the manager never contacted us when he said he would. Overall very disappointed with the manager I understand it’s an old bowling alley and things break but this way to treat the customers is not ok."
"Very unfortunate experience. Made plans for a birthday party. Was just told price of party and that it included 2 pizzas and a bowling pin. Was not informed that it was only for an hour of bowling and that we would be charged past that one hour mark. With little kids, you obviously cannot bowl within 1 hour. I've worked in the customer service industry for years including with Hagadone and I've never come across a manager or owner who wasn't willing to work out a problem as we had until today. Really hoped this would be a great place for families like our community needs, instead it felt like pennies were more important than having us as future patrons."
"Very sad experience. Went for a birthday party today, and I told the owner I had 4 kids under the age of 7, so we play slow, can I pay per game? No, by the hour only. We went 13 minutes over the hour to finish the ONE game, extra $20. Pizza showed up AFTER all the bowling was finished. And at the end, I noticed the pricing sheet and pointed out that if I pay for each player individually, AND the pizzas separately, it would cost me $30 less. Not allowed apparently. Since my wife booked the party, we cannot change the type of event. Even though this is the OWNER, I guess his rules are so absolute even to himself. Zero other patrons in the place. You know, we tried to reason with him and show him how logically his upcharging our young family made no sense, but he seems to not care about logic or working practically with our community. Again, quite sad. We loved AJ. Off to Trojan Lanes in Troy everyone!"
"Nicely renovated bar space, lots of good beer on tap for great prices. Last night they had a couple specials going for $2.50 a pint! I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a cold beer, even if you have no interest in bowling. They also have nice-looking pool tables. The whole space feels clean and new."
"Good ol gal that runs the joint. Good food but the cook natzi doest trust customers. Must pay for your tea even if your waiting on your lunch? Why not one bill instead of two?"
