Reviews of Kay's Teriyaki Plus
"I read a review about the almond chicken being delicious... So my wife and I had to try it... So we drove all the way from Airway Heights not knowing what kind of place we would find... Unbeknownst to us what appeared to be a mere ordinary teriyaki place... But time would only tell, until I opened the door for my wife, and our senses were over stimulated with delicious scents... The staff was beyond awesome... My wife and I ordered and sat at a booth expecting our name or number to be called and we would have to go get our food... That was not the case... Instead, we were greeted by the hostess with complimentary 4 cream cheese rangoons (best i have ever had) and 2 bowls of egg drop soup... It was an awesome unexpected surprise, that did not get over looked... The next part is the main entree's... My wife and I got a combo dinner plate each, roughly $16-$18 a plate and 2 pops... About $42 for 2 people which is a very good price for the quantity of food, quality of food, and what set it apart from others like it, the quality of service... I think Spokane and surrounding areas has a new greatest teriyaki place ever... And that Kay's Teriyaki Plus!!! Woot woot!!! Thank you for an awesome meal..."
"Huge portions! Delicious Teriyaki! Fast service! My wife and I visited the area and tried this place. It was very good. We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki (not the bowl, just the standard dish). It was SO much food. I normally eat all my food at restaurants, but seriously just ate half for lunch and half for dinner. It was exactly what I want out of a teriyaki place. My wife is gluten-free and didn't have any trouble with the chicken teriyaki, white rice, salad and egg drop soup. You can choose fried rice for no cost increase. Access from the street can be a bit difficult, if you are in the far lane, as there is a median dividing the road, but you just drive around the block to get in. Worth the effort!"
"Cafe type atmosphere with fantastic food cooked fresh to order. They make the best almond fried chicken gravy that I have ever had. The gravy doesn't separate when reheating, and it's just as good cold as it is hot and the servings are generous, the meat is lean, and their food is not overpriced. UPDATE They've changed their menu but haven't bothered to update the menu, or that's what I was told. Dishes are different and prices are much higher. I ordered almond chicken. Whomever made the gravy doesn't know how to make gravy as it's loaded with lumps of flour. This isn't even edible without picking out all the lumps. Rating is dropped from 5 star to 1 star"
"We found this place online and decided to try it out. I was blown out of the water by the service. I came in to pick up the order and it was going to be about another 10 minutes from the time they gave me. They offered me some egg flower soup while I waited, and put an order of the same in our bag on the house. The orange chicken was by far the best dish we ordered. The broccoli beef was good and the teriyaki chicken was moist, while still having a char on the outside. The gyoza and sauce were decent, but the sauce was less tangy than we had found at other places and we missed that. The veggie yakisoba was the least desired dish. When hot oily food is put in plastic Styrofoam, it has a tendency to take on an undesirable taste. I don't know if eating in would result in a different taste, but based on the takeout, we wouldn't do that dish again. Or, a suggestion to use wax lined cardboard takeout boxes would be an option. All in all a descent place for teriyaki and centrally located."
