Reviews of The Chicken Shanty
"Meh…. It’s ok. I’d go back but not a must go back. I’m always in pursuit of a Chick-fil-a competitor and this wasn’t it. The good… The pear lemonade was excellent and the fries were well seasoned and warm. The not so good… The main event was to be a Nashville chicken sandwich. And it proved pretty underwhelming. The sauce was spotty on the tenders, and the coleslaw was bland. After waiting 10 minutes for the sandwich I would have expected it to be fresh and hot. It was like maybe they had warmed up the chicken instead of cooking it fresh. Either the sandwich didn’t come with pickles or they had left pickles off. Being my antisocial self, I didn’t bother to ask for them. The interior was going for a country rustic theme. They appeared understaffed as the floors were super littered with napkins and food crumbs and tables weren’t washed off. They were pretty busy for an early Friday night at 5:15. Maybe I am in the minority on this one. Give it a whirl and see what ya think."
"I was quite shocked at the prices for chicken tender sandwiches if they were about 3 dollars cheaper. Now, we ordered almost the whole menu. I enjoyed several of the items, very tasty, Nashville sandwich, the avocado baccon spinach wrap, and wings. Now, it seems they specialize in their sauces, and they seem homemade, and that may contribute to the sandwiches being a tad high in price. I was very happy with the peanut sauce, the dragonfruit, and just wow on the honeymustard. The hot sauces my friends seem to enjoy. They had the crab ragoon chicken, jalapeños chicken popper sandwich, and chicken wings (tad small ) but tasty, and I believe it had half hot and half peanut sauce. They have adorable kids' meal bags.Adorable baskets are that the fries come in and are very tasty. Go check it out."
"Not bad for a new place. Chicken was good with lots of flavor. We did wait a while (20 minutes) but it’s a new place so I give them that. The menu inside is hard to read on the digital displays. Would be nice to have print out menus you can look at as alternative. I’d recommend for giving them a try. As with most places now a day, plan on $20 a person."
"Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I'm honestly a bit of a picky eater (I have very discriminatory taste) but everything was so delicious. First time here and I ordered the Chicken Bacon Avocado Wrap. It was so good! High quality food. You can tell from the taste. I tried the dragon fruit sauce as it was recommended by other reviews. Personally I don't have much to say about it. It was pretty plain, just sweet and very mild. Not exciting. As someone who likes more of a kick, or burst of flavor, I could take it or leave it. But I will RAVE about the peanut sauce. Absolutely SO mouth wateringly good! Reminds me of Thai food/pairs perfectly with the taste of chicken. The wait time after we ordered was about 20 minutes but it was dinner time on a Saturday and they were super busy. It was worth the wait. I found the concrete tables at the booth a little bit odd as a decorative choice, as it doesn't lend to a very comfy texture or visually appealing surface. The music in the restaurant consisted mainly of top rock hits from the 70s and 80s, I'm sure it's meant to be a crowd pleaser but was a bit cliche and nothing impressive. Other than that I really have nothing less than positive to say! Also, I love that their fountain features the Stubborn Soda brand. Stubborn is a company I love to support as they use fair trade cane sugar as their sweetener. The Pineapple Cream Soda was a new flavor for me and did not disappoint. Definitely a place to return to!"
"I loved this place!! What a cute joint, so friendly and felt good coming in here. The people were nice the food was great and we all left FULL. I loved all the sauce choices and the crab sandwich with coconut chicken was bomb. My kids loved that the kids meals were just strips and fries in adorable bags. They are little animals and were happy to pick. We loved it and will definitely be making this a regular stop"
