The Cedars Floating Restaurant

"Today was our first visit to this restaurant and unfortunately will likely be our last. We went for my husband’s birthday expecting a nice dinner out, that’s not what we received. The best part of the visit was the salad bar and atmosphere, being right on the lake. Our drinks arrived after the appetizer was served. The appetizer was cold and the dough didn’t seem completely cooked (we ordered the pesto flatbread). Then, after waiting almost an hour we finally were served the entrees only for my husband’s steak to be significantly over cooked (maybe that’s why it took so long for us to get them). When we informed the waitress, she did have them cook another one but no apology from anyone and then my food got cold waiting on his new steak to arrive. The food was average at best. It wasn’t worth the price. The waitress only came by the table a couple of times (she seemed to have too many tables), plates were never cleared, and we were only asked once if we wanted another drink. This was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to someone looking for a nice dinner out to celebrate a special occasion. With so many other good reviews maybe just had an off night tonight."

"Our food was delicious! The salad bar is fresh with a large selection. Our meals were amazing but we still couldn't pass up dessert so we took that to go!"

"It was our first visit to Cedars and it was more than we expected. Very nice atmosphere and some people were dressed casually others more formally. It was busy and a little noisy with the sounds of people having fun. We each had a cocktail I had the Key Lime Pie martini my husband had the margarita. Both were good. Dinners come with clam Chowder or trip to salad bar. I went with the Chowder which was thick and creamy (very good) my husband made a trip to the salad bar. Basic items nothing out of the ordinary but very fresh items. I had Lobster tails, yes instead of steak & lobster I had 2 tails which were excellent with a Idaho baked potato. My husband had the scallops that came on a bed of mashed potatoes. He said they were very good. To top dinner off we shared what they call a mile high pie. Very good. We enjoyed ourselves very much and look forward to going back."

"Everything about our visit was great! It was an absolutely beautiful place to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary! (20+ years together) As you can see by the pictures, the food looks, & WAS delicious! And the view from our table... and the entire area, in general, was spectacular! It is expensive. Well, depending on what you get. It was $217 for the 2 of us, including tip) But it was DEFINITELY worth celebrating our anniversary here! It's a must try, if you haven't already. We will definitely be back. :) Oh. We don't recommend the Pesto flatbread. It definitely needs some adjusting. Neither of us cared for it. But, to each their own. ;)"
