"Peter has retired."
"Carrol was great! Completed all the work on my dryer and stove perfectly and actually went above and beyond fixing some additional problems she discovered. Highly recommended!"
"Our dryer broke down on a Friday and “the other place” would only be able to come look until Tuesday. Peter was very quick to call me back and work something out for us the same day. Even though the COVID-19 regulations prevented him from coming to our home, he was willing to work on it in his garage, saving us a few bucks, and was very helpful. We had our dryer back the next day, and he even cleaned it inside and out for us as a bonus. If we have appliance issues we plan on calling Peter first. Great guy, fair prices, explained what was wrong to us, and was very prompt and professional. We greatly appreciated his time getting our dryer back."
"My experience with Peter’s Appliance Repair was horrible for 2 main reasons: 1. he WAY over-charged me and 2. Peter is difficult to work with. 1. Overcharging- when I called him to fix our dryer, he ended up charging me $165 to REPLACE A FUSE. That included $85 for “troubleshooting service” and $60 for less than an hour of work. At the time, I asked him if there was maybe an underlying reason that the fuse blew and he told me it was just an old fuse. So I wasn’t surprised when the fuse blew again after using the dryer for about 30 minutes. I called him back and he ended up charging us another $212 to fix the real problem (busted heating element and thermostat). He marks up his parts by 300% so a heating element that was going for $30 on Amazon cost us over $100 from Peter. All together, we ended up paying almost $400 to replace a couple of parts in our dryer- including OVER $200 (!!!!) for less than 2 hours of labor (that wasn’t related to his screw up). So just to get him to come to your house will cost $85 which he did not mention on the phone and his hourly rate must be around $75 and he works veeeerrrrry slooooooow. 2. Poor Customer Service- Peter is a real pain to work with. His phone doesn’t text so he would call me every day trying to sort out times for when he could come by. That got real old. Also, he’s pretty grouchy and had a tendency to try to blame everything on me (like I’m the one who mis-diagnosed the original problem). Just overall very unpleasant to deal with. Bottom line- I really wish I had known how much time, money, and energy this was going to cost me. If so, I would have just done some youtube searching and done it myself. Or just bought a used dryer for cheaper. Or found someone else to do this repair. Or at the very least, ordered my own parts. He charged us so much, I actually feel taken advantage of and I’m thinking about contacting the BBB. I know how hard it is to find people who do this kind of work, but avoid this guy at all costs."
"I have used Peter many times and have always been happy with his knowledge, expertise and friendliness!"
