Reviews of Lamar City Park
"We stopped here for the night, passing through in our motorhome. This is a real jewel! Lovely park with walking paths, a large playground, a koi pond, and 50 amp hookup for rv FREE for first night."
"Big, grassy, nicely kept, room for dogs or kids to play. The water park is shut down, but other playgrounds, etc, are still in use. Paved paths and mostly quiet roads run through. A few random water spigots for dogs or emergencies. Picnic tables in covered pavilions. Park wasn't busy but we were there during very hot weather. I never tried a bathroom."
"Great place to camp for the night, and the park itself was really nice, had a walk path, an extensive playground, little streams and waterfalls, and a fish pond. The camping area is a grassy field across from the water park. Had flush toilets, water and some electric hook ups."
"Have always loved this park. The big yellow slide is a favorite of all the kids. It has basketball courts, a tennis court and sand volleyball. We have Birthday parties at the gazebo often. My girls have a blast every time we come!"
"Playground is great. Camping was bad. The free camp is only 1 night bow and then $20 a night. No fire ring, picnic table, water hook up, electrical fuse (they have electricity but it's always hot), and it's right next to train tracks and an industrial complex. I wouldn't pay to be kept up all night by machinery and trains. They told us they are trying to earn money to make improvements, which is backwards. You can't charge people a bunch of money so you can make improvements, that's not how business works. Make the improvements, then raise you rates. With the trains and industry right there I don't see it ever being worth what they want to charge. If you want to take your kids to the playground or just have to stop, then this place will work."
