"I do not recommend this person or company due to numerous improper comments and a lack of professionalism on the owner's part. I met with Josh Mauer, CPA, for the 1st time on Monday, August 8-14-23. I waited 15 minutes past the 9am appointment I had properly made, and I could hear Josh having a negative conversation with a client, which was the reason for Josh being late to start our interview on time. I was precise and articulate in informing Josh about my specific accounting needs, which are simple and non-onerous. I was with a former CPA firm for 18 years and only changed accounting firms when they retired. I must say that I observed Josh to be self-centered, braggadocios and very non-specific with his impotent answers to my simple questions. Josh continued to contradict himself and change the monthly charging rate and he could not explain the services, costs, and format properly. I have 3 college degrees, many national and international business awards, (even 2 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards) and I have been in business for over 42 years, owning and operating many successful debt-free companies and continuing to do so with my current primary business. I give top 1% service, I am transparent and trustworthy, and my interactive people skills are exceptional due to my genuine interest and caring for others. I did not see any of these traits in Josh Mauer. At one point near the end of our non-productive conversation, Josh even arrogantly bragged, "I have dumped many of my clients and raised my prices, since I have figured out how to make the same amount of money dealing with less people". After hearing this comment and other similar statements, I realized that Josh Mauer and I were not compatible in any manner. I do not trust him (Josh) and I think Josh is only "profit-motivated" and does not have deference for others in business matters (at least this was my empirical situation and experience). I think I am avoiding further bad experiences by not doing business with him. Buyer be aware!"

"We've been with Josh Mauer CPA for several years. Our tax returns and business/payroll needs have never been straightforward and they've always helped us through it. We love the peace of mind we receive working with them. Maren in particular is awesome!"

"Do not use this company for anything. If I could give negative stars I would, this is the worst company, blatant disregard for respect of time. Two years in a row they have done our taxes incorrectly, last year (2022) they filed without our signature and sent our personal information to the wrong person. This year, we provided our paperwork in February and they have had zero communication back to us, we don't have anything filed and there are three business days left. They do not answer their phone, return any email. I'm sad to have to post here, but this is the worst experience. Shame on them for their behavior in 2022, shame on use for thinking they would behave differently this year. We will be reporting them to the BBB and the Kansas Board of Accountancy and the IRS."

It takes an usual amount of time to get someone to reply to a chat message through their client portal. I've never actually received a call back from messages left to their office voicemail."
