"Oncologist Dr Shah was just ok during my cancer treatments. But he crested a hostile Dr/patient environment as soon as the big billings to my insurance was over Examples will follow"
"I am still shaking with confusion and anger after the brief appt my mother had today with him. She recently was diagnosed with cancer and has been put on a feeding tube due to the location in her espoghas. Today was our first appointment after a Pet scan to see in reality her fate if it spread. The Dr came into the room with 2 students and I asked nicely that my sister remain on speaker since she is out of state and had all of the questions. He immediately pointed to a sign which did say no face time, calls etc which is strange but I digress. The conversation lasted maybe 20 secs and he walked out of the room before I could even reach over to disconnect call. I stated well were "beep" now huh Mom. Stunned we sat in silence agreeing get thru appt and then get a referral elsewhere. The nurse entered and stated the Dr does not approve of cell phones or foul language and will not be coming back. Then his LPN came in an stated we will be referred to someone else which will take weeks and cancer doesn't care about anyone's timeline. Needless to say we are stunned and dumbfounded about today but at same time dodged a bullet. This Dr should not be interacting with the public and especially in a sensitive capacity like life or death illnesses. The very least the nurse could have given a warning keep phone up or issues could occur."
"After receiving a diagnosis of stage 2a ascending colon cancer, having my ascending colon removed, 23 lymph nodes that were all clear AND two clear scans, and telling Dr shah that I was not at all interested in chemo....he proceeded to offer it not just once, but at least a total of four times. I felt as though I was being pushed to do a treatment that I made clear I did not want. He also did not know what the side effects of removing am ascending colon were, nor did he know that CEA levels are affected by smoking. You see, what he did not know, was that I have a degree in nursing, and my brother has been a doc for 35 years"
