He was very honest in saying that I might be better buying a new aluminum radiator online rather than having my old one re-cored because of the price but he agreed to take a look. As we both expected, the core was bad but the tanks were good. He worked up a price for a new core with labor and everything and was patient while I thought about how I wanted to proceed. I ultimately decided to go ahead and buy a new radiator online and I was only charged $25 for him and his guys to clean up my radiator and to provide guidance for moving forward. I can't speak to the work that these guys would do (however they had been recommended to me by a friend who owns an auto repair shop), but I was certainly impressed with Steve's honesty and practicality instead of just looking to make some money.
