"This is the worst golf course in the area on etiquette. The 5some behind us kept hitting balls into our group so on #10 I picked up his ball as it rolled 10 yards by us.I waved at him and told him I had his ball and would gladly return it if he would apologize for hitting into us. He refused and threatened to call the Pro shop which he did. Your pro shop guy came out and I told him my story and he told me the 17 year old didn't see us even though he had just played 9 holes behind us. He refused to ask for the apology. Your pro shop guy should have handled the situation better but failed miserably. He said the 17 yr old plays the "tips" and is more valuable than we were and for me to give the ball back.I told him to stop encouraging this bad behavior and gave the ball to your pro shop guy."
"I play in a 9 hole league every Monday PM. The greens are rarely mowed since the weekend. This week the ruff was so long it was almost unplayable. And, even though the heat index was over 112 degrees, there were only 2 water jugs on each nine. Lastly, the sand traps need to be raked and ready for play daily...that never happens."
"This is a great course Chuck, th guy behind the counter was really helpful when I was asking about clubs and some golf balls. The greens are well maintained and so are the fareways"
"After reading some of the reviews, it all makes sense. I would encourage you to look elsewhere if you are just the casual golfer that may take a little longer than the average. We paid for 18 but left after 10 after being told that we need to pick up the pace. At that point we had only let one team play through, which was back around 3-4, which was no problem since they were driving to the green as we were finishing up. We had no one else behind us the rest of the day, but apparently the club house still had to make a point that we were not fast enough for their liking. Maybe they can take the money we spent and buy some siding and replace what is falling off the clubhouse. Thankfully there is other places to golf in the area that we wont return. Pace of play for all players? Even though the next team behind us was 3-4 holes back? Point is that there was no reason to even approach us with this. Unfortunately, our perception was we were just not welcome since we were not some of your regulars. Maybe you should think of making it a private course or just state we would prefer that you do not play here if you do not keep a decent place. We golf just a few times a year and it’s honestly one of the few things we enjoy doing, sad that half of our day that was planned was ruined because we were “rushed” off of your course."
"Carthage is always a fun course to play! It's probably one of my favorites out of the local courses, the grounds are always well maintained, greens are always good and the carts are nice and comfortable seats. They seems to care about the game and growing it as a sport and want to get kids involved and playing. Im definitely checking into their junior pga for my kids."
