Reviews of Betty & Bobby Allison Ozarks Counseling Center
"If you are looking for a quiet place to have your trauma overlooked and downplayed. This is the place to go. I have seen 2 different people, both extremely unqualified, to help aide with people labeled as “having severe trauma”. Please find a real therapist."
"As a member of the Board of Directors, I can attest to the important work that the Ozarks Counseling Center does for the community. They are the a true safety-net for the public, offering mental health services to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay. The sliding fee scale puts much needed services within reach of anyone in need. If you are looking for a way to support the community, consider supporting the Ozarks Counseling Center."
"This place is absolutely horrible on every conceivable level. I spent $300 for 6 sessions, which is absolutely ridiculous and exploitative. The counselor that I was given Heather C was extremely incompetent, insensitive, and woefully inadequate. I venture to say that the people who've left positive comments are all fake. Any individual persons or organizations that donate money to this place should be ashamed of themselves for contributing to the vitality of this monstrosity."
"It’s hard to review a counseling office, because counselors are individuals. So, even though I’m leaving a positive review for my experience, I can’t say much for the office as a whole. Although, the sliding scale has been a massive blessing. I only pay $10/session. I’ve struggled to find a good counselor that I can afford. I’ve seen two interns and a professional and never really felt good about any of them. My first session with Deborah, I literally left crying because I was so relieved to have found a good counselor. I didn’t even know she was an intern until a few weeks in. My degree is in psych and every counselor has told me that I’m very self-aware. Both of those have made it hard to feel like I’m getting anything out of counseling. Deborah has made me feel very seen and validated. She’s remembered the things I’ve talked about in previous sessions. I look forward to seeing her every week."
"Wow! I cannot say enough good things about OCC. if you’ve never been to therapy before, I will say that finding the right fit for you may be trial and error — If you get plugged in and the therapist you’re with doesn’t quite “vibe” that’s okay. Let them know, they’re here to help. Lots of people are seeking therapy so there might be a little wait, but don’t let that deter you from getting the mental and behavioral health support that you need. They really do try their best here to meet your needs, as I’ve experienced myself. The care from my therapist is obvious and genuine. I appreciate being in a place that hears me and doesn’t cast judgment. It’s scary to be vulnerable, even with a professional! But they’ve made my sessions and every experience from phone calls to appointment reminders and even the financial portion, all wonderful exchanges. This office and my therapist have served me so well and I am very grateful."
