"A couple of days ago, we made an appointment for our daughter with Briana West via her website. Today, about an hour or so before the appointment time, my daughter received a text message from Briana saying "We're unable to schedule your appointment...I'm not currently accepting new clients, I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you, Briana West." It strikes me as not only unprofessional to "schedule" an appointment online and then cancel it the day of the appointment, but EXTREMELY lacking in sensitivity and empathy to handle the situation in this impersonal manner. A person requesting a counseling appointment is very likely to be in a difficult emotional state. I think a personal phone call would have been appropriate, and I think it would have been even better to call with the name of another counselor that could be recommended. I would have expected more concern from a person who makes a living as a counselor. Very disappointing."
