"I’ve been seeing Dr. Wotherspoon for the past decade. She is amazing. She’s removed cervical cysts and vulvar skin tags. She’s done an endometrial biopsy, which is no fun, but she apologized throughout the procedure. She’s proactively got me on a small dose of estrogen for post menopausal urinary issues. Yes, sometimes she runs late—after all, she does deliver babies, who are notoriously uncooperative. And there’s a shortage of OB/GYNs in Springfield. I really wish she’d been my OB when my daughter was born. I think she’d have been better than the cranky old man who delivered her!"
"This place is incredibly inhumane to the families that struggle. I am a single provider in my home. And thanks to lack of competence on there side I am absolutely going threw hell missing work and jumping threw hoops to keep my job. I’ve had 3 kids before this. This is the first time any of this has happened. Be better!!!!"
"Leaving this review for my daughter. You get 1 star because her and her baby are still alive. No thanks to you. As uninterested as Dr. Wotherspoon and her incompetent assistant Gara were,I'm fairly certain they will never read this review. But they need too. I'm going to make a long story, short. My daughter had undiagnosed preeclampsia for over 2 months with textbook symptoms. (We now know) it then turns into HELLP syndrome which she found out in the ER. Did I mention that the ER team diagnosed her with Preeclampsia in less than 5 minutes by a visual assessment and blood pressure reading. Emergency C section at 31 weeks and a life or death surgery. Thankfully they both survived. Dr. Wotherspoon came in that morning to say, "I just don't know how we missed this." And then never came back! My daughter was in the hospital for an additional 5 days with NO visits from her OBGYN. Thankfully we had the most amazing ER surgeon who came by every morning. ( not his job btw) He actually had to take over care of her medications and discharge. If at the very least, this review sways an expecting mother to make a different choice as to their OBGYN, my mission has been accomplished."
"Dr Wotherspoon herself is fantastic, no complaints there. We saw her once. Unfortunately, there’s a major office staff problem that needs to be fix as it’s affecting patient care. When it’s over a week and there’s no calls on labs ordered, that’s an issue. Front desk staff continued to tell us either go to L&D or wait for a call even when asked to speak with the nurse in clinic. L&D refused to see us, ER told us go to L&D, Urgent care wouldn’t see us, and it took our primary care getting involved to be told it was from a shortage of staff. Then to find out today all Appts have been dropped without a request to do so and no establishment to another OB has occurred yet doesn’t set well. Patient relations was notified and got involved. I would say If you want a good doctor, Dr Wotherspoon seemed good, but don’t expect to have any support between your appointments."
"I was sad to leave this doctor. She had delivered my first three babies. I had called to inform them that I was pregnant as she has been my OB since 2015 and I needed to start prenatal care. I was told she would not order blood work nor run a urine to confirm pregnancy for insurance. I had to have my pcp do lab work whom said my levels were too low and I was miscarrying. I called back and was still met with resistance. I was told I would have to go through the entire intake process again before I could be seen. Which consists of a nurse appointment to establish history and go over pregnancy expectations. I felt this was unnecessary as I had done this three times before with her and she had my full history. Still they refused care until I picked up the folder which is a 45 minute drive to and from for me. I told her staff that is ridiculous to make someone drive that long for a dang folder with paperwork that I honestly didn’t need. Then I was told she wouldn’t even see me till I was 12 weeks on top of that. Which isn’t okay when you’re told you’re miscarrying. I am disappointed in Mercy as a whole for this as I was not miscarrying and my baby is due in a few months. I had adored this office until this point."
