Reviews of Rise And Ride Electric MTB Rental
"We had a great experience with Rise and Ride bikes! The owner went above and beyond to give us a great day mountain biking. The bikes were incredible and insured that even as novices we had an incredible day!"
"The GREAT: -Marc (the owner) was very responsive and flexible when it came to getting my bike. -The tour with Marc was awesome. He really knows the local trails and took us places we would never have made it on our own. He’s kind supportive and enthusiastic. He was fun to ride with and He was also able to give me some pointers that really helped build my confidence (I’m not much of a jumper) and got me jumping and having a great time. -I was really excited to rent a unique bike like the Ibis Oso. -Marc worked really hard to fix some bike issues I ran into. The NOT AS GREAT: -Marc doesn’t help set up the bike for you. No adjustments to fit the bike. I asked about setting the suspension and he said he sets it for a standard rider (180 lbs) and leaves it. I’m 240 lbs. needless to say, it wasn’t ideal. He also didn’t have a shock pump for me to use. Having traveled from out of state with minimal room for tools, etc. this was a problem for me. For the first part of the ride my bottom bracket was way too low and was getting pedal strikes non stop. I was able to borrow a shock pump and made some adjustments that significantly improved my experience. It would be nice if Marc offered this service with the bike rental. -Marc doesn’t do his own maintenance which isn’t a huge deal, but it could have caught some issues that my bike had. I rented the bike for 2 days and the first day was fun but I had issues with shifting and the chain slipping from the very beginning. We tried making adjustments and nothing seemed to help. I told Marc that this wasn’t going to work for me and he made arrangements for me to take the bike to a shop to get checked out. The shop found that one of the derailleur pivots was broken. Marc approved the replacement of the derailleur and I thought we were good to go. After getting back on the trail I continued to have issues with the chain slipping and poor shifting. I had to leave my riding group a second time to go back to the shop. They were able to find that the cassette had a few broken teeth they ended up changing out the cassette and the chain but by that time the riding day was done. The next day the bike ride amazing, without any issues. I ended up losing a half a day of riding which was frustrating. SUMMARY: Marc is a great guy, worked really hard to keep me riding and I think that goes a long way. I was pretty frustrated with the first day of the rental. I feel like the issues could have been avoided. I was frustrated to lose a half a day of riding when I was only in Bentonville for 4 days. The rest of my time with Rise and Ride was great. I would recommend renting from Marc with the understanding you’ll need to plan on fitting the bike yourself and hopefully the maintenance issues were just a rare situation."
"Our buddies and I rented five e-bikes for 2 days and man, we had a blast! Marc is such a cool dude, he told us which were the best trails around and if you come across any issues with the bikes, he’ll go out of his way to get your e- bike up and running asap. Definitely coming back to him on our next trip!"
"“Concierge e-mountain bike rental” This was our first trip to Bentonville. We were not able to find a rental company that had e-bikes available for our family of four for all of our planned riding days. We rented from two vendors and Rise and Ride definitely rose above. One shop had us travel to their listed location and then to another to pick up the bikes, both of which had some mechanical problems. Marc and I had a miscommunication on delivery times for which he accepted full accountability and upgraded our rentals to the top-of-the- line Oso’s and added a day of rental at no charge. Although we did not book a tour with him he was a wealth of knowledge on local trails and the bikes’ profiles. Unfortunately one of my sons had a mishap on one of the bikes rendering it unridable. Marc took a very client-first approach picking up the bike and delivering another so as to not interrupt our family’s riding time in Bentonville. He was more concerned about my son’s physical well being than his bike. It was my son’s bad and Marc made it good. Marc’s personal touch is felt throughout the Rise and Ride rental experience. He is a local rider and an ambassador for Bentonville. His business is to ensure you have the best riding experience in Bentonville and return. We will be back, and I know where we will rent our bikes."
