"Joseph Redden exceeded all my expectations. The installation of my hitch took only 45 minutes. My car interior was kept meticulously clean with plastic seat, floor, and steering wheel covers. He answered all my questions and was very pleasant. If I could rate him higher than 5 I would! I asked him about a 1 star review I had seen online and he said that employee was fired."
"Staff at this location are very friendly, helpful, fast and professional. Vehicle was very clean, building and restrooms were nice and clean as well. Highly Recommend! The staff at this location should get a raise. Excellent Equipment, Excellent prices, every time, every location! Customer service staff are great as well! U-Haul is On Point!"
"Great customer service! I had an issue with my uhaul account and they were so attentive and helpful!"
"Terrible place to schedule any hitch work. 1st appointment at 830 on a Saturday morning. 730 get a call saying he was working by himself and did not know if he could do it that day and could not guarantee it would be done. Rescheduled for 730 on a Friday morning, walk in the door at 715 and the first thing Chris ask is what are you doing here so early. Shocked I stated I had an appointment to have a hitch installed. Then it begins, I do not even know if we have the right hitch, can you just leave it and we may get it done today. Then he watched a video on how to install it. Then he said he was by himself and it would be better to reschedule. He was on the phone for 25 minutes trying to figure out a way of not doing it. Whoever he was talking to he lied to them on the phone saying I just got there ( Yeah, 20 minutes ago, 15 minutes before my appointment ) then he told whoever I had to be out by 9. Never said no such thing. Incompetence to the core. I would not trust them if it was free"
"With the start of the coronavirus in 2020 my wife and I were forced to rent two storage units at the new Alton location on the beltline. With the needs of our small Internet business evolving and changing we had a few needs that had to be met. We needed 24 hour access To our units. We needed a weatherproof storage unit as some products needed to say at a comfortable temperature as to not be damaged by freezing or overheating. Also we needed a location for deliveries. Most companies charge you more for a residential delivery with a semi truck vs a commercial dock. The rent of the 2 units would quickly pay for themselves in avoiding residential delivery charges. We were excited about our new venture with U-Haul. We paid our first month Including a $10 charge for overnight access per unit. When answering the weather proof store it has a very good security system and access pads at 2 entry points. You can get an access card or a pin to enter upon entry. You can use the 2 garage ports for unloading your car or truck with 2 types of carts To use. There is a flat type and a mattress type. The units are kept at 70° all year long. As you walk down the hallways the lights come on with motion to save on electricity when not being used. There are two restrooms that I’ve been newly constructed. The store is really clean with shiny waxed floors, security cameras, brand new units constructed inside the old Kmart store. It is very nice and pleasurable compared to most storage units stores. They have multiple size trucks to rent, a nice office with packaging items for sale. They also have a garage on location for repairs. The store is very clean and was designed very well with security alarms alarms On each unit tied to your access key. Everything about the store is great. The bright lights make it cheery and clean floors make for a Good secure feeling when inside the building. You can pull up to the garage during business hours and drive right into it without exiting vehicle. You can shut the door and access entry pad in a secure location. This being said we had a very bad situation with the new management. In a previous manager had agreed to let us use our own lights in our unit because the lights above a roll of units are not working properly and do not come on at all When you walk upon them. This was not a problemUsing our lights until the lights quit working and the power stopped working. As I brought a big load of new items and I was unable to shuffle them into the unit without any lights. I left my Items totaling well over $1000 out in across the hallway from my unit which is a big square off of the side of the hallway that was not taking up any walkway. When I came in the next day all my stuff was gone I contacted the manager about my life asking why they weren’t fixed and where my stuff was. He informed me that he threw them away in the dumpster and chuckled as he mentioned that he smashed them up into pieces. Now this was a 400 pound bulletproofGlass jewelry case union built in 1967. A similar replacement ring in it and the $900-$1000 range. I also had some antique doors with hundreds of dollars of locks and brass knobs on them they were destroyed and throw in the dumpster as well. As I said when I confronted the manager about it he chuckled that he threw them away because he thought that I was smoking in his bathroom he thought that I was smoking in his bathroom I informed him that I was not and contacted his main office above his pay grade. I was told that I would be contacted within two days and was not. Now here it is three weeks later and no one has contacted me or compensated me for the items that were destroyed that were rightly mine sitting in the hallway because I couldn’t put them in to my unit properly without light. I will be seeing them in a civil court for compensation and will be moving my two units totaling $250 a month as soon as possible."
