Heartland Horseshoeing School

"Going into school I knew it was going to be challenging and overwhelming. Horseshoeing itself can be a trade that wears you down, but the nearly 7 months I spent at school I had never felt more energized, and accomplished than I did at Heartland. The teachers hold old values and unreal expectations to make you into well respected farriers in the trade. Many aspects other than making and shoeing horses is covered in school, such as business, real-life scenarios, communication skills, and emotional strength. If you ever have questions for Chris don’t be afraid to speak up with your concerns, he is beyond knowledgeable, charismatic to learn under. His wife, Kelly, shares her love for the trade and compliments her husband’s personality very well. Their son, Cody, is the most hard-working person I have ever encountered in my life. Growing up shoeing horses there’s not many scenarios that slow him down. Cody has a way to make you want to please him in the quality of your work. He is not only encouraging but inspiring with his attention to detail and enthusiasm. Attending Heartland is one of the best choices I have made, it has changed me in more way than one."

"I attended this years’s October certification workshop and it was an outstanding experience. I gained more than I expected to and improved my skill set thanks to Chris and Cody, they are so dedicated, incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and personable, I wish I had chosen Heartland for my initial farrier education. This program draws in incredible people and provides an immense amount of information and finely tuned instruction. The bunkhouse is a wonderful place to stay, the shop is well- equipped. For anyone who hasn’t met them, the Gregory family is beyond welcoming. Overall it was the most valuable investment I have made in my career so far, and definitely not just for the certification itself.
