"If you want to rent with a leasing company that will do literally nothing about other tenants making construction-level noises until 2AM every other night, then FrontDoorSTL is the company and the Carleton is the building for you! Not only that, but they'll make YOU leave if you have to take actions into your own hands because they sat on their hands for three straight months. At least I have a good civil court case!"
"First of all, I want to say this is not an advertisement and I do not get credits for this comment. I am writing this because I wanted to let others know that this is overall a good apartment. (I especially wanted to share this information for those who are outside of st. louis like I was, who cannot really come and see the apartment before making any contracts) You can have a tour through skype with them and this is the way that I could know about the apartment and singed the contract. I have stayed here for about 8 months. The rent includes all the utilities - they do not charge more than what is written in the contract unless you want to park your car in their garage (I usually park my car on street since there are many places to park my car on street near). The apartment is located in a place where restaurants and a market are close (which is the part that I really like). The apartment is composed of wooden floors, run by central air-condition. You can easily throw away your trash since they are collected on every floor. Although the floors are old and can make some squeaky noise from upstairs, I do not get distracted by it. Other than the squeaky noise or water tap sound hearing occassionally from the upstairs, I do not have any bothering noise issues here. However, if you are sensitive about them, check this part out. The agent (Frontdoor stl) sometimes make some minimal mistakes but they are overall communicative so I was able to fix my problems fast. Management team handles problem quickly so I am satisfied with that as well. In addition, I do not see any bugs in my apartment so this is another good thing. I have stayed here for 8 months and am willing to renew my contract. I hope this comment helps for some. _______________________________________________________________________"
"I lived in the Carleton building in 2019-2020, which was managed by Front Door. In my opinion this is not a resident-friendly building or manager. Management turned over frequently, making it challenging to get problems addressed. Many of my emails and phone calls went unanswered. They did not provide Amazon, UPS, DHL, or FedEx access to the building so it is difficult or impossible to get packages delivered. It took them about a month to set up my parking. The exercise room was dirty and the equipment rusty. Worst of all, they did not provide any notice of the move-out inspection or permit me to be present, despite repeated requests to be present. This is a violation of state law (Mo. Rev. Stat. § 535.300(5)). A portion of my security deposit was also improperly withheld. I would not recommend renting at the Carleton or any other Front Door property."
