"Samantha is awesome. She was kind, patient and caring to my parents and resolved every single one of their concerns as they face the challenges of senior care. I cannot recommend her and her staff enough. She was unselfish with her time and very compassionate. I have already recommended her to my friends whose parents are moving into their more advanced years. A diamond in the rough."
"I’m responsible for the care of my in-laws. Shepherd Elder Law Group was instrumental in first setting up VA Benefits which provided us the ability to bring in Home Care. (I found this amazing after the VA told me we were ineligible.) The VA started providing monthly payments and to my astonishment Shepherd Law Group informed me that we can receive more and filed again and increased the monthly amount!!! After a few years, we eventually had to move my in-laws to a nursing home. Shepherd Law Group took complete control of the Medicare process and we couldn’t be happier with the facility and final outcome. I would NEVER attempt all this on my own. Shepherd Elder Law Group makes a very difficult situation a little more tolerable."
"Recently worked with the Shepherd Elder Law Group to redo and prepare details for my estate planning portfolio. My goal was to establish a guideline for how I wanted things to move forward with my passing, set in place the people to facilitate my goals, and to preserve as much of the estate as possible. After an initial consultation visit in which a potential structure was laid out and discussed, I chose to move forward with this Law Group. Had the pleasure of working with Niki Piskuric , JD, legal assistant Laura Williams, as well as other members of the staff. I was very pleased and impressed with the way the entire process was handled. Everyone involved was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I felt like I was treated as a friend as opposed to a client. Everything was explained in such a manner that it was understandable and all my questions, no matter how redundant, were addressed till I felt I had a thorough understanding of the what and whys involved. Ms. Piskuric was patient, extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and was a true joy to deal with. Her legal assistant Laura did a tremendous job of communicating dates, processes, and providing us with follow up details. The rest of the staff was also easy and enjoyable to deal with. I am completely comfortable with the plan that was adopted, and feel it will accomplish the goal of preserving assets and make it as easy as possible for The Executor of the Will and Trust to handle its intent upon my passing. I would highly recommend Shepherd Elder Law Group to anyone who desires help in setting up a financial plan and trust to preserve and distribute assets and avoid having assets gobbled up by the ramifications of probate and potential for the need of Medicaid for long term care. Regards, Wayne S. Howlett II"
"It is with pleasure that I recommend Shepherd Elder Law. Senior days for my mom and dad have been very difficult, emotional and scary - there is no way I could have survived this without Shepherd's empathy, knowledge and desire to help me, my mom and my dad. My mom began serious dementia signs as early as 2016 and my dad was in deep denial - Shepherd walked with us through the process of getting them help, getting the VA on board to help financially (which is a headache), navigating Medicaid and Medicare (another headache), and getting elder insurance policies to pay due money when they didn't want to (another headache). My mom passed away in 2020 to COVID and the planning Shepherd guided us through made navigating the funeral very simple during a hard time. They continue to work with me and my dad as he now is in a nursing home with some difficult health issues - during which we had some tough times dealing with the VA. The Shepherd Elder Law staff were absolute CHAMPIONS in helping me navigate the crazy paperwork and to settle the issues. Marissa, Christine and Samantha are the absolute best in this business. If you are in a place to need Elder Law in your family, DO NOT hesitate to invest here, you will not regret it. Thank you Shepherd Law for all you have done for us."
"I assisted my father as he (we) worked with Shepherd Elder Law to plan for both his financial future and for the ongoing nursing care of my mother. Everyone we dealt with at Shepherd Law was very kind, friendly, understanding and gracious; especially toward my father as we went through a somewhat complicated process. They were professional, knowledgeable, thorough and informative. I /we highly recommend Shepherd Law to anyone who needs to navigate the process of planning for elder care."
