Reviews of Bankers Life
"Three times they have come to the door to sell Medicare Advantage. No one should buy from a door to door salesman. Contact Boomer Benefits when you are ready to sign up for Medicare. They are excellent."
"On April 2022 i’ve been signed for a life insurance that’s i didn’t ask for i was trying to get a retirement policy with them so the agent convinced me that this is a retirement plan and you can cash out all your money whenever you want, Later on October 2022 i lost my job and i couldn’t make the payments anymore so i called the company (Bankers Life) and i explained my situation they told me that the agent who signed me is no longer work there and my policy is not a requirement it is a life policy i told them that first i didn’t apply to get a life policy i don’t need it i was trying to get a retirement policy second i lost my job anyway i can’t make my payments no more and I’m asking to cancel and get a refund they said you don’t have any money available for refund your surrender value is $0 , WHAT!? No one ever explained that for me before ok i wanna talk to an agent they said yeah sure we’ll assign a new agent for you and they’ll contact you within a week or so, after 4 MONTHS No one ever again contact me till February 2023 a man name Chad Clem called me from a Missouri area code number after i left a review on google maps he called to see why i left a negative review for them anyway i told him what happened and i gave him my policy number and he said what i see now on my screen if you surrender your policy you would be getting roughly roughly $1600 to $1700 i said nice that’ll will help a lot so he send me the surrendering (cancellation) form i signed it i believed him because he’s the company’s “Investment Advisor Representative” then he said alright wait about 2 weeks and you’ll get a check of a refund $1600 to $1700 if not you’ll get a mail asking for more information in order to get your refund i said alright I’m looking forward to it till i get a mail saying “ The surrender charge on your policy met or exceeded the cash value. Therefore, there are no proceeds payable.” What a scam 1st they scammed me to sign the wrong policy and steal my money and 2nd they scammed me to sign to cancel my policy with them for I’m not be able no more to keep asking about my money that they stole."
"We have a policy on my mother in-law for 12 years, She passed May 1st,. I and my husband has tried to contact the Agent: Jimmy Chouteau. Jimmy will not return any calls have been trying for a month. Jimmy did contact me one time only because the receptionist had someone go to his office and waited till he called. I attempted to call again today 6/1/22 I was given his cell # my husband called. He was told we sent the ppwk to the home office so we are keeping him out of the loop. Jimmy continued to say he didn't care and started yelling and cussing and then hung up the phone. have never worked with a company like this before. We have family members that has policy's with Bankers Life one has 8 policy's totaling over 250,000.00 that is just one policy they are now going to change agents or move to State Farm. I am so disappointed I have never worked with a company like this and will never give Banker's any more of my money. I am taking 2 policy's to State Farm."
"A Bankers Life agent pounded on my door a few times this morning. I do not open my door if I do not know the person or I am not expecting them. She left a cheesy scrawled Post It note with my name (like she knew me) asking me to call her, signing with her name and phone number. When I phoned she said she knew I was turning 65 this year and wanted to schedule an appointment to talk with me. WHO IN THE WORLD WANTS UNANNOUNCED INSURANCE SALES PEOPLE POUNDING ON THEIR DOOR SOLICITING BUSINESS? NO ONE! Who in their right mind goes pounding on people's doors without knowing who/what the circumstances are inside? I do not appreciate being looked up and stalked. Would you like your grandmother having Lord knows who pounding on her door wanting to sell her something? What a horrible business practice. You reminded me of an ambulance chaser. I will NEVER do business with people like this. Addendum: Now I'm supposed to register my name, email and phone number with your company to avoid having someone contact me again? Give me a break. CHANGE YOUR POLICY TO ONLY CONTACT THOSE THAT HAVE ASKED TO SPEAK TO YOU. I'm a business owner - that's what I do. I think I learned in Marketing 101 - Don't annoy your potential clients. I'm on the Do Not Call list and have added a "No Soliciting For Any Reason" sign on my door. If that's not enough to detour your "sales reps" I don't know what is. SECOND ADDENDUM: Yet ANOTHER Banker's Life Casualty Insurance agent has left their cheesy unprofessional post it note on my door. What part of "NO SOLICITING FOR ANY REASON" sign do you not understand. I seriously will call the police and file a trespassing charge if this happens again."
"My mother bought products from banker's Life before she entered a nursing home. Since I'm her POA, I've tried to get up to speed on all of her many accounts. Most providers have been very responsive, but this one has not. I've left messages for Jimmy that were never returned... Even gone in the office and left a message. Again never returned. It's amazing to me that businesses spend thousands of dollars in advertising trying to win over customers from the competition, then don't even provide even mediocre customer service so they lose them to the competition..."
