"I can only give it a give it a four, because we went on Thanksgiving day, when of course the visitor center was closed. Bathrooms were very clean and the trails there on the back side of the visitor center were absolutely wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful. I look forward to going back when we can walk more trails and visit that beautiful looking Visitor Center"
"A bit of a disappointment. Looked at the website before going and saw the warnings that there are closures for deer hunts but no dates seen. Checked the home page banners and everything Showed up to find only 3 trails open the weekend before Thanksgiving...like when everyone has a bit of vacation time and might want to go to the park? *Sigh*. The Karst trail was open at least, so we did that. It was a nice trail with some good variation between woodland and shoreline areas. Very rocky so I was glad of my thick hiking boot soles."
"Great trails! Easy to navigate with beautiful views. The visitor center had informative and fun displays and very friendly and helpful staff."
"Bashore Ridge Loop Trail was a very enjoyable walk through the woods trail. I liked that you could hike and look at the views at the same time. So many hikes I’ve been on recently require you to watch your feet the whole time so you don’t trip over roots and rocks. Easy to follow Loop with gorgeous view of Beaver Lake halfway through. There are cliffs so you can’t reach the water. I wanted my dogs to swim so we bushwhacked across until we reached a gravelly beach. No bugs or ticks bothered us."
"Great Park. We did the Pigeon Roost trail which was recommended to us at the visitors center by a super sweet lady! It was about 4 miles and perfect for us. Capping off the hike was a great vista of Beaver lake. Visitor center was legit!!!"
