About Us

The Wheaton Depot Museum is a charming museum located in the original 1908 Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad Depot in Wheaton, Missouri. Our museum features permanent exhibits on the railroad, the City of Wheaton, and Wheaton Schools, as well as rotating exhibits that showcase the rich history of the area.
We are dedicated to making our collections accessible to the public, whether for scholastic research or personal enjoyment. We are continually working to expand our online research area to include as much of our collections as possible.
In addition to our exhibits, we also offer books written by local authors that delve into the lives, businesses, school days, and railroad stories that have shaped Wheaton and the surrounding area. Visit us at 311 East Main Street to explore the history and heritage of Southwest Missouri at the Wheaton Depot Museum.

"A great restoration of the last Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad, the "May Never Arrive". Stop in and see the exhibits and caboose."
"I went to the Wheaton Depot just to add pictures to the map not knowing what the building was now being used for. When I got there I found it was being used as a museum and was greeted by three very nice lady's that volunteer there. They are still getting it all organized, but there is a lot of interesting things there, they also have pictures from when they restored the museum. I was very pleasantly surprised when going here, and I recommend you make the drive there to see it too. They are open Sunday 2-4."
