"Tuckaway is a hidden a gem. My husband and I have been living here for 6 months and we LOVE it. We have a 2 bed, 2 bath on the second floor. There is so much natural lighting and open space. I love how the kitchen is open to the rest of the apartment. There is so much counter space and so much storage. All of the closets are so big. There is crown molding and tall ceilings. Our patio looks out onto beautiful walking trails. When we first moved in, everything was so clean. They installed new carpet too. Management has been great. Our hot water stopped working so they got us a new water heater within a couple of hours. The people below us have a small baby that cries a lot and we barely hear it (thank goodness!) I feel very safe in this complex. It is gated and super quiet. A lot of the residents are retired and very pleasant to be around. The walking trails are very nice and the landscaping is always beautiful. The pool is always clean and peaceful. The gym is never busy and has good basic equipment. The mailboxes and dumpster are just a short walk away. Big packages get delivered right to your door. I have no complaints."

"Our daughter who has a disability has lived in Tuckaway for several years. This has been a very satisfactory arrangement for her special needs as she is primarily independent and has assistance from staff during the day. Sean is an excellent manager and is agreeable when we have issues to resolve. We highly recommend this property as her one bedroom has ample space and the rent is very reasonable for everything that is included. We feel very fortunate to have found this apartment and the great management team."

"I don’t normally write reviews, but in looking at new apartments in the town we are moving to and it became very evident that this place is far superior and deserving of one. We have truly loved living at Tuckaway at Shawnee. The amenities are wonderful. The pool is nice and clean and the gym is well kept. Management is very clear about communicating and keeping realistic expectations. During office hours you can always reach someone in the office. Maintenance is fast and timely. Our apartment is beautifully lit and has 6 windows facing the front plus 3 more facing the other direction. The extra things like giant closets that are well shelved for organization, electrical lighting, and the bonus laundry room really set it apart. This complex is the best we have found by far in Kansas City especially in terms of lots of light, being safe, and having GREAT management. Sean is very particular about cleanliness, but if you follow the move out directions he is very fair with the move out process. Just for price comparison we started renting in May of 2020. We lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. Our rent is $1090/mo. plus a $55/mo. water charge and a $25/mo. pet fee. Our deposit was $400 and pet was $300 ($150 refundable). We only paid $95 at move out to Tuckaway at Shawnee for carpet cleaning which was agreed upon in the lease. You could also choose to have it professionally cleaned, but we couldn’t find anything cheaper. I list the prices because in looking at other apartments it was such a nice thing to know what we would be charged. They did not nickel and dime us to death with miscellaneous fees and charges. We highly recommend living at Tuckaway at Shawnee."

"Still a current resident - a year and a couple months - this place is incredible. the apartments are huge for the price (even the one bedrooms) and the staff is awesome, including maintenance! We've had out furnace go out a couple times this winter and Leon has came and got it fixed that day. He also seems very trustworthy and respectful which when they're usually the ones coming into your place it's a big plus! We got lucky this was the place we chose as our apartments, after such a great first year, I dont see us moving out until we buy a house. 10/10 would recommend"

"From the beginning the manager and staff were extremely helpful and they were very accommodating. We lived at Tuckaway for only 3 months but in those 3 months we had no negative experiences at all. The apartment was very nice and our AC did break once but maintenance responded quickly and got it fixed in a timely fashion. The gym is great and I even got to work out with my 5 year old boy who likes walking on the treadmill. Overall, this was a very nice place to live and the value you get is unbeatable. I wish we could move back to it but they are usually pretty sold out."
