Reviews of Carpenter's Mortuary Spook House
"The actors that they had were very talented! I loved how much attention to detail there was in the decor. I didn’t think it was that scary but it was very good overall."
"Seriously the best haunted house I've been to! The layout is a maze so you lose track of where you are, each area is uniquely designed with incredible life-like props, the actors are GREAT at scaring the pants off you, and the whole thing is huge! My husband and I were screaming and clinging to each other the whole way through. I haven't been this scared from a Halloween attraction since I was a kid. Only complaint is that I wish I could have immediately gone through a second time!"
"INSIDER OPINION: I am one of the actors here and let me tell you this place is incredible. This place exists because of the passion that every one of the creators and employees has for the art of set design, acting, and love for the horror genre. The attention to detail that the owner/head creator has is insane he is incredibly dedicated to giving everyone a fully immersive experience where you can really lean into suspended belief. when people say it looks like a movie set, it really does! He works on this haunted house as a passion project all year round and you can tell how much time has been put into this place. We love to scare everyone that comes through but even if you aren’t coming to get scared, I think it’s worth it just to walk through and appreciate the artistry. I mean I could spend so long walking through the multiple rooms and hallways just to look at the floor to ceiling details. and it’s so impressive because besides the help of some friends and colleagues, he’s done it all himself! He is the ultimate handyman and DIYer and a creative at heart. The actors are all also very talented not just in their acting, but their makeup skills as well! I was so impressed to see everyone’s FX makeup knowing that each actor does their own makeup. It’s all very convincing. another thing that separates carpenters mortuary from other haunted houses is that it actually has a real historical spooky history and the owner used that as a jumping off point to create a storyline that runs through the whole haunted house. It’s all very well thought out. Year after year this place has gotten great reviews and has been ranked or voted at the top of multiple lists and it is so well-deserved. I drive an hour and a half round-trip every day to be able to work at Carpenters mortuary even though there are haunted attractions much closer to me because I think this place is so cool. I wish I could take better photos or videos but I don’t have a good lowlight camera so I guess you’ll just have to come and see for yourself! (no flash photography allowed, I was only using my flash because I was there before we were open, PLEASE do not use your flash inside of the haunt!)"
"Oh my goodness this is not your typical meh house the is the awesome place and you will have someone spook you easily and they don't scream at you face or ears but my goodness this is one of the best one!"
"Went for the first time this year and it was amazing! Knowing the history of the building in itself is creepy! The creator is a great gentleman and a pleasure to speak with :) He did an amazing job with the design of the haunt of the rooms and the actors were great with no screeching in your face/ears! Will definitely come back next year!!!"
