"Smith is an ok company too lease on to. Not the best but definitely not the worse. They do have good rates. It would be much better if you could stay running more."
"Stay away from this Carrier, if you want to go broke and lose everything you have, and work for driver's pay go here, as written in a previous post, u'll be given loads with no rate con, and told they won't know how much it pays until u deliver it, and u'll always have to ask accounting to move loads, from current week, in order to have half way decent check for the previous week, this is a warning for all hard working honest owner operators, u'll will barely gross $5000 a week minus fuel and their 28% and other fees, u'll be lucky to take home $1,500 a week so do urself a favor stay away everything written in the post from three weeks ago from john is all fact not fiction, if u want to practice driving go and lease on here.and don't get put on the Brighton Michigan run ,from Sumter south carolina, which pay $2,070 ,for 735 miles minus 28% and fuel u'll be lucky to clear $750 to the truck.. a clear racket designed for you as an owner operator to loose...far as stars they deserve zero stars.their game is moving freight in bulk collecting the 28% time x number of owner operators which is a complete win do to volume, that's why their is no concern for the owner operator leased on,promised $3,500 a week after Deductions, never seen it given a negative stub and a, $600 check.."
"Best OTR Trucking company in the US."
"This is a horrible carrier to lease your truck onto. The contract doesn't state all of the actual deductions that will be taken from your settlements, like the fee for the customer to move their trailer around their property, or having a deduction for the customer to wash out their trailer. They also will not pay you for detention time or TONU. They will claim that the customer didn't want to pay but when it's every customer it becomes suspicious. You won't get your escrow back when you leave, so I'm guessing that they're having financial trouble. That should be a huge red flag for anyone considering leasing onto GS. The ops manager has an attitude with drivers. Try telling him you don't have available hours on your clock to run a load and you'll be told to use PC. You won't get the chance to reject loads and sometimes you won't be given the rate before you're forced to take a load. By the time you do get the rate, you'll realize that you got screwed. This was by far the worst company I've ever worked for. #Classactionlawsuit"
"A very great company over the phone and I respect their religious atmosphere. I was so excited for this opportunity because Greg is great and so genuine but Kevin can push safety to the limits which is technically his job and he’s the best at what he does but your backing has to be perfect as your road test or he will re-call all your prior employers after your hired, which to me shows a huge trust issue but in his mind a safety concern and I need to respect that but just a lot to swallow! Maybe I’m just not good enough of a truck driver since all my work is local farm style, but they gave me the job offer anyways and I did 2 days of orientation and learned so much from Kevin (He’s a trucking genius with 2 million miles OTR) even after backing troubles, then realized maybe they messed up hiring me? All I know is all my past employers called me saying what’s up with this Kevin guy calling again and again after I already talked to him and gave him a good reference? I reacted terribly and said some very rude things so for that I apologize for my cruel words. If your the best at what you do this is the place to go! I’m just not good enough yet at backing and took it to heart selfishly. God Bless & Amen."
