"Sign says it was open today but the place was locked up. We could see some old buildings and a cemetery."
"Fun little stop off the beaten path. Only gave 4 starts since the museum itself wasn't open even thought the sign on the door said it was. But it was still a cool little place with a little cemetery to walk through"
"Great little museum, knowledgeable and friendly guide. History of this part of Kansas and the wider scope of US history as experienced by local residents’ ancestors. Lots of treasured family artifacts shared for all to learn from. Worth a stop. Compliments what you learn at the nearby Marais des Cygnes massacre site."
"What an amazing transition! From a big building crammed with stuff to a well organized building with several secondary buildings that have been meticulously put together. You really should take the time to see the cabin and schoolhouse. That said, GO SEE THE BARN!!! Their collection is over the top. Implements galore as well as threshers and tractors. Well worth getting of the highway and seeingm"
"Very cool little museum. I recommend visiting it. There is a lot of history on the border wars between Kansas and Missouri and history of the area. This little museum could use all the support it can get. If you get a minute stop in next time you drive by and donate a couple bucks. They are a not for profit and rely solely on donations. Every little bit helps! BTW, this is the museum INSIDE the community of Trading Post, not the rest stop that is full of replicas. This is the real deal and the displays are very interesting! Go past the rest stop into the town and it is on your right."
