"I have purchased 6 or 7 homes in my past and refinanced 2 other times. This was the least communicative title company, and had errors in the documents. They didn't tell me anything that I did not ask directly. Then they messed up the transfer of my title to my trust. I contacted them once, they told me they put it in my trust, but when I contacted the county, the very next document they filed was a QCD to turn it back OUT of my trust. I have never received copies of the title documents that I paid an exorbitant price for compared to other title companies. It was twice the estimate. They charged $150 for a notary, but didn't tell me. I read it in the documents sent over the night before for an 8:30 AM appointment. I could have gone to my bank for free. They put the wrong county on the documents, I had to point that out, and had in email prior to receiving the documents. They put the wrong name in places. And they won't respond to my emails about my question on when I will get my documents. In spite of the fact that they collected my property tax (almost $400 MORE than the tax actually) with the closing in October, in mid December, it remains unpaid according to the county. My home is my only asset of any value. And I am concerned that they have done nothing that I have paid for. I have NO evidence of any title work, and they couldn't even file simple deeds correctly. God only knows how or if the taxes will get paid. I would have paid them by now had they not insisted on collecting the money at closing."
