"I attended Eugene Field Elementary School in Maryville Mo in the years 1975 through 1980 Spring. It had the best Teachers. I especially liked math & social studies. Mrs. Appleman was a kind Teacher. Mrs. Turner kept us in Knowlege about NASA & the future of Science. Mrs. Bram had the nicest Kindergarten school room that taught us how to add up the cost of store items & get along with others. Mrs. From taught very well in first grade. The Librarian & Art Teacher taught us how to express ourselves & our imaginations through choosing library books & learning to create artwork. Mr. Childress was a kind male Teacher & taught us very well. Mr. Sharp was a kind Principal & often scheduled the best auditorium guests to put on puppet shows, Conservation visits with animals, the Harlem Globetrotters, & a few more. Mrs. Baker was neat too. She taught P.E. & had a large colorful parachute & let us play Duck, Duck, Goose often. Mrs. Clara Watkins was the School Nurse & did a fine job. I loved the fish on Friday & chocolate milk & submarine sandwiches in the Cafeteria. The recess playgrounds were a genius idea & I think their creativity brought about a good change along with the same room, two Teachers Kiva area. I hope this helps to tell some history about this school."
