"Do not live here. It has the facade of a trendy newer apt building but I deeply regret my time there & considered breaking my lease multiple times if it weren't three grand to do so. First off, the building has roaches. While it's not as bad as their other property Westport Central which should be condemned its such a roach pit, I still saw them pretty much once a week & had to use paper towels to dry out my sink/coffee maker/bathtub immediately after every use or else the moisture would attract the roaches & had to bag up any & all trash or else it'll attract them as well. Speaking of pests, the basement also has a bad mouse problem & their solution was terrible ie when they were told they were living in basement walls they just poisoned the walls then pastered over them so for months after the stairwells had a smell of death & decay from the dead mice literally rotting inside the walls which residents told them about multiple times but they never cared to remedy. Packages get stolen often & if you don't shell out the $70 a month for parking your car WILL get its window busted out on the street. Told the office about the frequent break-ins & all they said was "oh that's a city problem" no its your problem as well because you have zero security/don't care about your residents safety at all. Someone got stabbed in Westport Central's lobby (right down the road) about a year back. The office is zero help whatsoever on most issues due to the fact that MAC is a multistate company known for predatory properties (currently facing class action suit in chicago) & I feel like I was tricked/lied to by their property manager into signing a lease as I was moving to the kc area & knew little about their reputation then once that happens they have you trapped & no longer care to return calls/provide any solutions. In the weeks prior to moving out KC Tenants began to organize residents in protest to MAC's illegal behavior. If I could give any advice its avoid all MAC properties!"
"Lived here for 4 years. It took calling the Chicago office for a few months to finally get a working ac and not a window unit. Then there was the year where the entire building went about 8 months with only one working washer and dryer. Don’t forget about the amount of Costco carts that pile up because people are too lazy to return them so they just sit on the ground level. Also enjoyed being woken up by people banging the button to open the door on the ground floor. Also the package office where multiple times my packages have mysteriously disappeared after being checked in. And for the grand finale my car was stolen from their gated and secure parking lot but wouldn’t give me video of it. Probably because most of the cameras they have are fake you just gotta ask the maintenance people and they’ll tell you that. So glad to finally be out of midtown and living in a peaceful area where there’s not constant sirens or worrying about homeless people all the time harassing you or the occasional gunfire."
"Our apartment was very nice as the appliances are updated and the new flooring, but this doesn't out weight the problems with this building. For starters, there is a horrid mouse problem that Mac didn't really do anything for. They told us pest control would be there within the week each of the 5 times we called and they showed up twice and just laid the same ineffective traps. My husband caught a live mouse with our trash can, and I caught one with a mixing bowl in our bathtub. Mice aside, the homeless people sleeping in the lobby made it very unsafe. Also, the residents in the building have no respect for others due to smoking in units (marijuana and tobacco). This normally would not bother me but when the hallway wreaks of smoke, and my vents are connected to other units who smoke, it was a problem. Again, called Mac and they said they would take care of it as my neighbor who was smoking had been complained about before, but nothing happened and our apartment smelled awful. Overprice and more problems than its worth."
"Our maintenance guy Gary is amazing. He is so kind, always has a smile on his face, and is extremely good at his job. He has fixed so many random issues in our appartment. Management needs to know how amazing and valuable of a guy they have. He always greets us when he sees us around the complex and has never been late with a fix. Gary is a total mvp."
