"If you are seeking compassion and privacy, DO NOT GO HERE. Upon walking in, the staff at the front desk had no issue with asking and repeating back my personal information including my address, phone number, full name, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, date of birth, etc. The lobby has zero privacy and no discretion. After asking for this information verbally with two other people waiting in line behind me, i am given a new patient sheet to fill out *that has the exact same information questions as i had to say out loud*. They waved off the pre-screening papers and the general information papers literally for the entire appointment, and i had to repeat the same cases i put on the sheets twice instead of them reading it. As an openly LGBT person, they had to ask about anatomy and partners, which makes sense medically if done in the doctors office itself. Wanna take a guess where they asked me this? Thats right, the lobby. With two other people over my shoulder. Why was this question necessary in the lobby rather than in the office? Secondly about LGBT-friendliness, if you are LGBT, STAY AWAY FROM HERE. Youll pick up on their subtleties if you bother with this place. I have pride pins on my purse to let it be known to others that they have my support, but this hospital asking things like "what were you born as" in the main lobby after seeing my legally designated sex as "F" on my license, and then proceeding to call me sir? Red flag. I can only imagine what transgender patients will experience if myself being a lesbian has to deal with it at this level. Aside from LGBT complaints, the appointment was rushed. They did not address all of my concerns before pushing me out the door. I was there for FMLA paperwork regarding high blood pressure, which they shrugged off and said i was fine (even though every other doctor of mine has said that its high in the past and my numbers are consistent; switching doctors because i moved states and need a PCP), they were reluctant about the paperwork at all, when i requested my adderall prescription to be continued in missouri i was told to go to therapy and try there instead, and lastly they never even gave me paperwork to transfer medical records from my hospital in michigan. I had to tell three different people that i needed that to be done. What they DID do, though, is try to sign me up for more appointments to get vaccines (that ive already taken and have on record in michigan, if theyd have listen when i told them and asked for record transfer). If i dont need another vaccine yet, why would i waste my time and money on an appointment to come get it? When concluding the appointment, the lady at the front told me that the appointment would cost $125. Thats after no FMLA help, told to see a therapist for continuing my adderall, disregarding my blood pressure issue, seeking to misgender me due to my affiliation with LGBT people, and pushing past my multiple attempts at seeking to transfer medical records. They literally did nothing. They told me im fine, go to therapy, hit the road. Sound like competent medical care to you? When i actually got to paying, someone else told me that there was a financial aid program that i was supposed to be told about due to not having insurance on file. A regular appointment, then, would only cost $95. Thats a $30 oopsie that i have to pay for doing nothing wrong. There is only ONE redeeming factor here. Autumn, the one who did my vitals (weight, blood pressure, pulse, etc) was super nice and kind. She listened to my concerns. Shoutouts to Autumn. The other three i dealt with besides her? Zero privacy or discretion, disregarding issues i specifically asked about, rushing through the appointment, neglecting paperwork, and not taking concerns seriously. Literally the only part that they seemed to pay attention was to know how i will be paying, and even then they got the wrong number. Edit to add: bill came in for $536 now instead of $125 on MyChart. Color me shocked at them increasing the price MORE than 4x. $536 to be neglected and told "seek therapy""
"After going here for a couple of years I sadly have to find another practice. The final straw was this past week when my husband went in when he was feeling ill a few days after I tested positive for the flu. They tested him, said he was negative and told him to gargle salt water…. When I pressed them for tamiflu they refused and one “medical professional” tried to tell me there’s no treatment for the flu. Uhhhhh why is tamiflu an FDA approved drug for the flu? Granted, it has to be taken within a short window after the onset of symptoms, which is why we were there. Thank goodness for urgent care doctors because we didn’t even have to mention tamiflu. Once they heard that I was positive with the flu, and we obviously live together, they didn’t even need to test him! The doctor was very quick to say “even if you don’t test positive, we are giving it to you because it’s such a bad flu season this year!” I expect compassion, and preventative care from my doctor, and sadly I just haven’t had that experience here. I missed a week of work from the flu, and it would’ve put us in a very tight position if my husband would’ve had to do the same. Health care professionals should keep this in mind when it comes to preventative care…. We don’t all have the luxury of PTO. I’m also pretty suspicious of their rating because this is the second time I’ve had to post this review, so I think they might be removing unfavorable reviews."
"All office staff are polite and respectful of each other’s boundaries and their ability to communicate with others. Why does your lab close at 2:30pm and you’re still open? I personally had a 3:00pm office visit that needed lab work drawn. So I had to go stop at another lab to get that done. When you could have had me come in at 2:25 to do such before my appt. It’s an inconvenience to the patient to have such hours of lab, i would get rid of that service rather than upsetting folks and making them return the next day or make another stop. When i was expecting to draw my labs there, but not knowing the hours."
"Donna Phan is very thorough. The capable staff has even called and checked on me after my appointment. I have been helped several times over the last three years by Dr. Eckelkamp's team."
"I like the facility, don't have to worry about getting lost in a giant building. Donna T Phan had to take over for my PCP Joseph Eckelkamp. He's got big shoes to fill but she is phenomenal; I was extremely impressed with her. The staff from the front desk to the people in the lab are awesome too which made the visit a pleasure from beginning to end."
