"I went to ambassador to arrange a honeymoon vacation for my fiancé and me. We booked a cruise and flight through the agency, and after some hiccups of multiple name misspellings on the itinerary for the cruise we were able to get a 200 dollar deposit paid and reserved. A month later, after hearing nothing back from the agency, I attempted to look up my cruise online to find it was canceled. Upon calling the agent, she explained that it was canceled because they did not receive payment. I was under the impression that you paid through the travel agent, and she agreed and said they should have followed up. She offered me a re-booking of a room that would be arranged a couple of days before the cruise left port. Not trusting this, I opted to cancel the booking with them. The agent told me they would refund the 200 dollars, due to it being their fault. When I attempted to follow up, I was told the owner was out of town and they had to check with them about payment. 2 weeks later, I was told I would not receive payment but instead be offered a 200 dollar comp to use with ambassador. By now, I'm to close to getting married to even be able to book the honeymoon we were hoping for, and I really don't trust giving them more money in the fear that I will lose more. What I thought would be a seamless experience using a travel agent turned out to be a nightmare that cost me and my fiancé the honeymoon we were hoping for."
