Reviews of Mercy Endoscopy Center - Lake Saint Louis
"This was an awful experience. Literally two minutes after waking up from anesthesia I had a nurse shaking my shoulder, ordering me to wake up, keep my eyes open, and get dressed. I was dizzy and disoriented, but my husband helped me get dressed so that I could get into the waiting wheelchair to be escorted to my car. From wake up to car it was less than five minutes. I felt rushed and completely unimportant. Like number. I won’t be going back here ever. I’ll stick to the Mercy on Ballas where they have the facility to give the health care patients deserve."
"From the moment I got there, till the time I left, all was great. The staff was so friendly and they were very professional. Love the dr and anesthesiologist. Thanks u!"
"Well, I had an endoscopy at Mercy Endoscopy Center, Lake Saint Louis in July. The endoscopy itself was fine, the problem is they knocked out one of my front crowns during the process. I asked if they were going to pay to have it fixed, and they told me I would have to wait a week to find out since their "committee"' only meets once a week. So I waited around, tooth missing in the front of my mouth, for a whole week only to then be told, no, they won't pay to have it fixed. They said it is a known risk and not uncommon (!). Um, it's going to cost me $1800.00 to fix, so I'm definitely not happy. Here's the other thing, they say I was informed of this not uncommon risk. To the very best of my knowledge, I was not. I think I would have given more consideration to whether or not I should have had this endoscopy. Now, here's the other interesting thing. When I went to have the procedure, I was told at the front desk that they would give me the "consent" form to sign inside. And they did, but here's the problem, I was already in the final procedure room, laying down on the gurney with an oxygen mask on my face, and someone walked up to me, put a pen in my hand and said "Sign here, this is a consent form." I had absolutely no opportunity to read said consent form or even look at it long enough to verify it was a consent form. God knows what I signed. Sounds kind of hinky, right? So that's my experience with Mercy Endoscopy Center."
"The entire staff was so nice and extremely kind. This means so much when going in for a procedure and being nervous. The Nurses, Dr's, anesthesiologist and the entire team were amazing! Thank you all so much!"
"Expect to be greeted by a receptionist, about 5 min after you arrive. Hello, anyone home? Then you will be assigned to an experienced PRN ( part time nurse) who will assign you to a newbie PRN RN. Is this her first day? She will attempt to place a square needle in your arm.when it is halfway in you will beg her to remove it quickly! After all that, she will get an experienced RN to insert the needle and pic line properly. Hey, forget using oranges and Grape fruits, newbies need real live patients in which to experiment on. Practice makes perfect Right? After that, you lay in bed looking at the dirty water stained ceiling tiles while you wait for the procedure. Anyone have a can of paint? After that, the whole thing is more reminiscent of a factory assembly line than a hospital. Get them in, get them out! The anesthetic "PROPOFOL" is instantaneous. When you awaken, your back in your curtained area but, don't get up just yet ,especially with socks on, or your liable to take an embarrassing fall like I did (unless you want the nurses to clothe you). They should issue a pair of anti skid hospital socks to prevent this. Pain felt and Pride hurt you're done! It wasn't so bad right?"
