"I had an appt with Dr Sabates to get a New prescription for eyeglasses. I went through all the testing, and Dr. Sabates told me that I had dry eye but didn’t tell me I needed to do anything about it. He gave me a new prescription. I took it to Walmart, and when the new glasses came back I could not see better but worse. I asked how different the prescription was compared to the last time I had one filled and she said it had gotten better which made absolutely no sense to me. I wasn’t seeing well with my old glasses, I needed a stronger prescription. I was given a weaker prescription. I went to see another eye doctor at KU, and was told he should have never given me a prescription until the dry eye was taken care of. I spent $700 for my new glasses. Aside from my co-pay I had to pay Dr. Sabates and I can’t use the glasses. I would give them a zero if I could."

"I have been going to Sabates Eye Centers for 18 years. I started out at the Independence office. They were great. They caused me to keep using them. I have been to the Plaza office and the Leawood office. I once had a torn retina, went in to get checked and they scheduled me for surgery the next day. Dr Poulose was the surgeon who saved my eye and has been taking care of me ever since. He is wonderful. He explains things to your understanding and he is so caring. You won't go wrong with Sabates no matter which office you visit."

"I called in mid-December for a new patient appointment and was scheduled for late January, which was acceptable in my opinion. A week before my appointment I receive a call from Sabates saying my appointment must be rescheduled. The earliest I can be rescheduled in the Lenexa location is mid-March. I did not ask to be rescheduled so they should make whatever arrangements they need to reschedule closer to my original date. This is no way to treat a patient/customer. New customers beware, Sabates might be getting to big to care about customer service."
