"I have been going to Dr. Piszczek for a little while now. I originally met her while I was admitted in the hospital in severe lower abdominal pain and I believe she was just observing. The doctor I was being treated by was ok but I felt like a lot of my issues were not being taken very seriously. I then left the hospital and was referred to another gynecologist who finally ordered imaging and seen cysts on my ovaries and said that “they weren’t big enough to cause much of a problem and that I couldn’t be in that much pain and if I was then my body would probably sort it out itself.” That was the last time I seen him…. I was referred to Johnson County OBGYN by my primary doctor that seemed like the only doctor that took my pain seriously at the time so I gave it a shot and he sent over the referral. From the very first appointment with Dr. Piszczek, she was so amazing! She listened and gave me all of the options and her opinions on each option. She was very easy to keep in contact with ( I get quicker responses from her than my heart failed specialist). We tried a different birth control and physical therapy which helped a lot more than I expected (I was so tired of trying things and nothing helping!) finally after that the pain was more manageable but my periods became more sporadic and unmanageable she fought for me to finally get my hysterectomy. (VNOTES) I am so happy that we chose that type of hysterectomy! It the newest way and it had so little down time. It still has the same 6 week recovery/ healing time but I was up moving and doing things for myself with no pain on day 2 like I didn’t just have a major surgery! She gave me the run down on EVERYTHING! She was so honest and open and had no issues answering any questions about any part of the process. She made sure to sit with me at the beginning of the procedure and check in with me after going home! It has been so amazing ever since! I have another check up tomorrow and I am so happy that I got this doctor!"
"Let me start by saying this 2-star review is for the management of the practice. The actual doctors, nurses, and sonographers are wonderful. However, I have experienced now after the course of 4 years, three situations with the management of this practice that have been less than ideal. I'll start with the most recent. Three weeks ago I was seen by my doctor and it was confirmed that I need to have surgery to remove a polyp in my uterus. It was a Monday when this occurred and she told me that by Friday the surgery center would call me to schedule this procedure. Fast forward three weeks and I have not received a phone call, so I called JCOBGYN to ask, has the referral been sent or do I need to call the surgery center? I was first put on hold, then told the doctor would be contacted to see "where she was in this process". I then receive a two-minute voicemail where they simply go over my insurance benefits with me. I KNOW my benefits, I do not need this information. What this tells me is that the referral was never sent, and they are now backtracking to make me feel like this is the "normal" process before getting scheduled for surgery. Strike 2 occurred 4 years ago when I was prepared to be induced with my second baby. The day before I was to be induced my daughter tested positive for the flu. I immediately called JCOBGYN to tell them this and ask if I needed to be tested and if I needed to postpone my induction. Someone came on the phone with me seconds later (so clearly, they did NOT consult with my doctor) and told me to proceed as scheduled with my induction. The next evening, I go to the hospital, check in, and get my IV placed. I told the nurse at the hospital my situation with the flu, so they immediately test me. Sure enough, I was flu positive. The JCOBGYN doctor on duty that night came in and was appalled that I had been told to proceed with the induction. He was incredibly apologetic to me and even said "We will be having a meeting about this". After giving birth, my OB told me that they had an all staff meeting at their office about my situation where they discussed the mistake that was made with sending me to the hospital when they shouldn't have. Nine months before that (and strike 3) was when I went to schedule my blood test for genetic testing with baby #2 and some "office lady" says to me, "You should go home first and discuss this with your husband before you schedule this". UMMMM first of all, I already did discuss this with my husband. We completed the testing with our first baby and knew we wanted to do it with our second baby. How dare some office lady at that practice project her opinions and beliefs on to me. This was so inappropriate. Shame on me for continuing to allow myself to be treated by management so unprofessionally. Like I said, I love all the practitioners, but they seriously need to consider the management of this practice if they want to keep their clients."
"I have nothing but amazing things to say about this practice. Every doctor here is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and kind. I have been Dr. Cooper's patient for 17 years (though I have seen every doctor at some point during one of my pregnancies). Dr. Cooper's intuition is unparalleled and she has a gift for truly connecting with her patients. She saved my baby's life during my first pregnancy and I have completely trusted her ever since. I have referred several friends to Dr. Cooper and we all just absolutely think the world of her and of this practice as a whole."
"I was referred to Dr. Corina Cooper by a couple of friends and I’m so grateful. Dr. Cooper is attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She listened to me and was able to help me find the best solution for my problem. Everyone in the office is very polite. The offices are clean and presentable. The wait is not bad. I highly recommend this practice."
"I have been going here for a few years now and make a 30 minute commute just to keep my care here. Jen Pepper is the most down to earth, empathetic, and communicative provider I have ever had (and I've seen a LOT, unfortunately). She tells you at every step what's going on, why, and will actively work with you to make sure her care suits you. As somebody with an anxiety disorder, I appreciate the extra effort it takes to keep your patients calm and comfortable. I know Obgyn care can very easily be a nightmare experience for many, which is why I come back. TO NOTE, based on some of the other reviews I see on here: I am child free, white, and I have good insurance. My appointments are typically annual or just adjustments to my birth control."
