"Before you read: Every person I encountered at this clinic was phenomenal *except the Doctor!* Nurses, reception, etc. all were great. Know this review is SPECIFICALLY for Dr. Thompson. If you are considering Dr. Thompson, please read my experience before you select him as your provider. My experience with his beside manor was horrible. I only remember him saying a few words to me before my procedure. Instead, I spoke to the Nurse Practitioner who listened to my concerns. I feel the level of care I received from him was virtually 0; as if I was just another number to him. My experience: After my procedure, I was experiencing extreme swelling in the back of my throat and my uvula was distended and injured to the point I could barely swallow. I would choke, cough, and gag constantly. If I leaned forward, it literally would fall and be on the roof of my mouth. Dr. Thompsons response? It was unrelated to the endoscopy. He said maybe it was an allergic reaction (which is just straight false given my symptoms). He made no effort to see me. To ask questions. Didn't care about seeing a picture. Encouraged me to see a doctor "if I was worried" and then LAUGHED at me. For the life of me, I wish I could have a recording and put that audio on here. I have never been so insulted in my life. Here I am telling my doctor about an injury I sustained in HIS care only to be laughed at, dismissed, and treated like an idiot. If I could, I would go back in time and never see this doctor. I am recovered and fine now, thankfully. But it was absolutely NO thanks to Dr. Thompson at this clinic."
"For the most part everything was great except for the first nurse that brought me back to prep me. I was slightly nervous and she honestly did not care, when she went to put my IV in I was talking with another nurse and she just stab me with the needle and did not even let me know she was going to, then she left the Iv fluid dripping in full force and another nurse had to come over and dial it down. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but I'm hoping she does not treat everyone like that. Everyone and everything was great except for that lady."
"Possibly one of the most frustrating medical experiences I've had. It took months to book a consultation and after that, several additional months to book the procedure I needed. However, I suppose those months that I was working with them - they did not inform the surgery center they use until only a week prior to the procedure. That week I received a call that the facility fee would have to be paid in full day of the procedure or I could not have it done. They were unwilling to make any kind of payment plan, claiming because so many of their patients have not paid their bills.... I have never had this experience at any other reputable surgery outpatient center. I think they should be ashamed of themselves for their unwillingness to work with patient who need medical procedures - essential saying that this person's health and well-being are less valuable than the facility fee they require. I would never recommend either of these facilities. They have a complete lack of communication with the patient and the center they send patients for surgery. If they had any forethought about the patient, they would inform them of this policy months in advance so they could have the funds prepared to have a procedure they need. This is a clear disregard for patients or any form of bedside manner/ customer service."
"I couldn't recommend this place enough. From the time I checked in to when I was taken back for my procedure and the recovery. The staff was so caring and so friendly. I was super nervous about the anesthesia but everyone reassured me that everything was going to be ok. They are truly the best and made my experience so wonderful."
"The Endoscopy Center staff was great. Good luck getting scheduled though if you are going through Westglen GI Consultants. My husband and I both had referrals sent there by our primary doctors. We both got confirmation our referrals were received and someone would call to schedule. That never happened. Then when we called them back weeks later they couldn't find our referrals. We were told the practice was being sold and that was why things were chaotic. Finally, my husband got a call and was told he couldn't be seen until after the first of the year which is a problem for insurance reasons. (This process was started in September). He is going elsewhere."
