Mercy Clinic General and Specialty Surgery - S. Fremont

"Needs new office staff that answers the phone or returns phone calls. The incompetence and lack of concern is overwhelming. The surgeon, Dr. Kirk, was nice and seemed to perform the surgery well, the surgery center staff doing the surgery was wonderful and attentive. Everything fell apart from the moment we left the surgery center leaving the patient without pain medication because it's impossible to get ahold of anyone to help you. The person that eventually answered the phone made it clear she was too busy to do her job and left for the day without helping us. Then the after hours on call person said it was too late to call the meds to a pharmacy that had it in stock and recommended we go to urgent care for them to prescribe him pain meds from the surgery! This was around 7:30 pm, we got out of surgery around 3 and had been desperately trying to reach them to no avail because the pharmacy the meds were called into didn't have it in stock. The pharmacist tried several times and kept leaving voicemails. No reply. The Dr called as we were heading to urgent care around 8 and said he worked with the pharmacist to change the pain meds to a lower strength so it could be filled. Thank God , after hours of me crying and angry that we couldn't get help. No post op appointment was made, and no return call even after 24 hours leaving a message stating the patient is having difficulties at the hernia area to receive a post op appointment. You can't make this stuff up, how do some people keep their jobs?! We're now looking for another Dr office to do a post op appointment because the office staff are incapable of doing their job."
