"Are you coming here for help, or to get lost in the system? Do you enjoy feeling like a prisoner, feeling degraded and don't matter to anyone who is there to help you? Do you enjoy having a psychiatrist who was fired from his previous job for issuing so many medications to people, that he caused physical harm. Do you enjoy having your HIPPA Rights violated? Which would you prefer for you meals entertainment: Figuring out why half of your food is missing OR watching someone get stabbed in the neck, and being showered in blood? Do you enjoy being informed by the psychiatrist that nothing about your life matters? Do you feel you would lose your job, car, house if not able to make payments, due to not working? Doesn't matter, not to the psychiatrist, you can stay another month for speaking of that to them."
"Its a psych ward. Didn't let me keep the socks. Free pie. Unlimited phone calls. Unlimited naps. Not much to do. Shrink only sees you for 3 or 4 minutes. they dont give you all your meds(hypersomnia), give you all your sedatives at once, and complain you sleep too much. Otherwise Polite."
"My wife went to the ER Sunday morning, was admitted to Marian center Monday morning, by Tuesday late morning she has still not received any help. No Dr has talked to her and Nurses just keep saying Dr's are making their rounds. My wife went to hospital to get help and feel better but the experience has been awful and she just feels 10x worse being there due to zero help from staff and the Dr's. Staff would just keep telling me Dr's are coming around and didn't provide much info on how patients get treated. The experience seems more like a jail then a place to help those with mental issues."
"The nurse staff is nice, but it seems like they have no idea what is going on and never say the same thing. The therapists are rotating so you don’t have the opportunity to form any sort of relationship with one unless there for an extended time. The sessions wife the doctor are through video chat. The doctor doesn’t even live in the state. Advocates for patients aren’t given any information as to a treatment plan or suggestions on how to help patients recover successfully. Patients are given very little information (and the information given is too general for someone who is easily overwhelmed) on next actions steps to take. This place didn’t help anything. Please change the process! Equip patients and advocates to return to normal life!"
"I'm pleased to say I haven't had to be a resident at the Marian Center in 4 years and have no need in the future thanks to the amazing care I received from the staff and especially to my doctor, Dr. Hoyt. I went in with addiction to pain meds because of horrible chronic pain, he realized the pain could be much more effectively treated with anti-depressants. i had an extended stay as I had to first break the addiction from the pain meds, then had to try a few combos of anti-depressants until we got the correct dosage. My insurance company complains because they're expensive, but he always goes to bat for me because he knows the generics just don't work for me. Best of luck to all! God Bless!"
