"I went to Mercy Hospital March 3 for an emergency health reason I was in the ICU About four days I was better I wanted to go home. I told the doctor and nurses it was time for me to go home, but I had responsibilities at home. My bills had not been paid yet for that month, and I had a pet at home and I do not live by myself. I was not on any kind of IV drip or any kind of machine so I told him I was going home I got to the door and was tackled in the floor by five mercy security guards One of them put his knee on my shoulder, which I’ve had previous surgery on and had screws in. I was drugged back to my bed, give a shot which I was telling them not to give me, but they did anyway, they tied my hands and feet to the bed for 12 hourswas not untied till 7 o’clock the next morning I was so physically and mentally abused at that hospital I am seeking out an attorney to press some kind of charges against them. I have been a patient at Mercy for 20 years. every time I would talk to a nurse or a doctor I would get us different story every time different person different story then they put some kind of hold on me for 96 hours. I cannot leave the hospital they took my cell phone from me and cut off all the contact from my family I am a 67 year old woman in heart failure and lung failure. "My baby was due on 5/11/24, and she made a very surprise appearance on 2/29/24, I was anxious and stressed out and just plain worried about my baby and my own health (mental and physical) due to the severity of the situation. I could go on and on and on, but I will do my best to name a few of the BEST doctors/nurses I’ve EVER ever had the experience of being taken care of by. This was my third baby and my only NICU baby. During labor and delivery, Kayla, Tori, Deedra, Dr. T Stoddard, all made their best efforts to keep our daughter in my belly but she had other plans, so they took all the necessary precautions to ensure her safety and health. Such an AWESOME labor and delivery team and Mercy Springfield. My team on the floor, they were JUST as sweet and welcoming and willing to help. Ease my mind and made me feel comfortable despite my worries. If you care about your job your patients notice, and there’s no doubt these women care about their work. They put their whole heart into it, and it’s obvious. The NICU team, I didn’t get much time to learn their names but you have absolutely NO doubt that your child is in the best of hands. They want to help and they let you know you are NEVER in the way of them, or ask too many questions. These people feel like family when you leave, it’s almost hard to say goodbye. Thank you for everything."
