"When we originally checked into the hotel we gave it a 5* rating because the husband/wife team that worked the front were very friendly and helpful. But our stay went downhill from there. We went to the lower level to get ice and the whole hotel smelled moldy. The house keeper never brought towels. We had to go ask the front desk for toilet paper and towels They were out of breakfast items everyday. Every night we stayed there there was people being loud, slamming doors, banging against the wall etc at all hours of the night, screaming profanity. We were traveling with our three young girls. The first night there my husband got trapped in the lobby by someone's escaped pitbull out of the room across from ours. Our room was dirty and our air didn't work properly. My husband got a ringworm on his arm from our stay. needless to say we won't be staying there again not to mention the fact that a big drug bust happened two hotels down from this hotel the morning we checked out. the rooms and general pictures of the hotel that are online and on hotels.com are not accurate to the actual condition of the hotel."
"The one and only upside to this place is the staff, who are very friendly and accommodating. Everything else was terrible, the rooms looks nothing like what's posted online. The carpet is gross and lumpy all over. The walls are peeling, as is the ceiling. Before we touched anything we had to go spend an additional $30 on cleaning products to clean our room before we felt safe. Rooms should already be clean that's a no brainier. There was no blanket in the room when we arrived. There was doors slamming until midnight last night and they started slamming them again at 7 am. I paid to stay two nights, so we stayed the first night as an attempt to not waste money but I've decided this morning I'm going to spend the money to find somewhere that isn't this scuzzy/trashy. 10/10 will not revisit"
"Very stinky place it has a lot of potential just needs someone who is passionate and ambitious to take it on. The floors are thin there's sounds like a train running all night upstairs. With this said the people are very nice. The parking lot was very dark also when we pulled up no outside lights at all were on not sure why. The AC is perfect beds are good the rooms are a nice size.oh and also I have bug bites all over my arms it looks like bed bugs."
"I stayed here for 5 nights and had no issues. The room was clean and didn’t smell bad (if anything, it smelled like cleaning products, which I don’t mind). Microwave and mini-fridge were well-kept. It’s an old building that needs updating, but it isn’t gross or dirty. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the linens were clean. Walls were a little thin and the plumbing was noisy, but not enough to warrant complaint from me. I’m not a breakfast person, so I didn’t get the chance to try out the food. For $49 a night, I wasn’t expecting some luxurious suite, and the room I had was perfectly fine for the price I paid."
"We stayed at the Victorian Palace for 3 months while in Branson for a work contract. When we checked in the staff was very polite, not so much when checking out. The hotel did not have a working ice machine until the last week before check-out. The room was very spacious but in desperate need of painting, and the pull out couch was very old and mattress extremely dirty. The microwave looked as though it had NEVER been cleaned, in which they did replace upon request. The fridge was an old 80's model and had 2 settings EVERYTHING frozen or completely off, was given a replacement upon request but the old one was left outside our door for about a week until I took it to the dumpster myself. Had issues with the toilet overflowing, never did send maintenance to fix, I had to borrow a snake to fix myself. After the neighbors that had continuous domestic disputes all hours of the day and night moved, about 3 weeks in, we started seeing roaches and this continued for the remainder of our stay. Brandy, the first night front desk lady was clearly on meth most of the time, and was fired after the police raided the place arresting her and her drug dealer. After that, the management threw anyone and everyone they could find behind the desk with absolutely no training, at times it would take the new person up to an hour to pay my rent, get a receipt, and new key cards for the week. When checking in we paid a $50 refundable deposit. I deep cleaned the entire room to the point it was much better than when I had checked in. The owner still refused to give my deposit back, despite always paying our rent in full and on time. She refused to give a reason for keeping it and was extremely rude when checking out. We will not be giving this establishment our business in the future, since they do not appreciate good clean tenants, do not take care of their establishment, and do not honor their word."
