Platte Falls Conservation Area

"The archery range was neatly kept grass cut trash, picked up. It even has picnic tables and an outside grill. It’s easy to miss when driving by it if you’re not looking for it."

"Beautiful section of water. About 5 river miles to put in at the east end of the conservation area and take out in Platte City at the western/downstream side of the park. Plenty of fish, wading birds, turtles, even a beaver!"

"I've been to this area several times just to fish off bank but recently bought a kayak and since this has a put in and out where you don't have to find transportation bc of the duck head layout, I knew this was a good spot to kayak for my 1st time and with my daughter for my 2nd time. The water is what you would expect from a smaller river (muddy) and the snags are everywhere so watch out for them but it is a good 1st place to try out and the fish are plenty. Met some cool people on my trips here always willing to help a single mama out when we finish this 2 or 3 hr float. It will always be a favorite for me to float on."

"We intended to float the Duck Head. Unfortunately, we immediately noticed fallen trees appeared to be blocking the route. We were able to enjoy several hours going in the opposite direction of the river."

"GREASERAMA BABY!! Every year I go and every year I have such a great time. Great vendors and the swap meet is great. Always leave with a few things. Rat fink tshirt always get a greaserama tshirt and more. Lots dress in pinup style and oh boy the cars. I live it here. Live music all day all night. Never want to leave. Price you get in is great. I cant say nothing wrong about it. Amazing time. Great ppl and always great cars."
