"2024- the environment has changed a lot from the original venue. It feels more like a university auditorium now. I certainly get it but the culture is different. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Curator has the driest humor you will come across but he's fun. Tickets are pricey but obviously they're competing with AMC. They allow purchased limited snacks. 2020- Wonderful place for independent film. Sad it's closing. Streaming has made it difficult for the little guys and soon all theaters. In a few years, we'll all be forced to never leave home, and a night out or social interaction will be a thing of the past. As they about are now anyway due to smart phones."
"If you are a museum member, parking is free. If you aren't, it's $14 on top of the show ticket."
"Nice theater for viewing a movie. Would have been more fun outside, but the weather chose not to cooperate."
"They show the best independent and old films. The films here show new perspectives and lives of characters you don't normally get to see. Lots of depth and meaning to these carefully currated films."
"Saw the documentary Fantastic Fungi. Great to have a venue for smart, outside-the-mainstream films in Kansas City. Comfortable cloth seats, & a more intimate feel than a regular / chain movie theater. The Nelson-Atkins Museum has a free parking lot just to the north / towards the east, but it’s small, so was full because of the moviegoers, & I had to parallel park on a side street."
