Extended Stay America Select Suites - Kansas City - South - I-49

"This is the absolute worst feeling in the world to have no more money for another hotel and to be stuck in such filthy conditions and I’m not even sure the sheets were even changed it’s been hell every since I walked foot in this door I’ve been crying all night and still have two days left here and my toilet doesn’t even flush the staff have no remorse and do not offer any help this place should be shut down and should not be able to take money from anyone claiming to have a clean and healthy environment for for families and definitely not children I feel like a horrible parent for having my kids stay in this environment and with a restricted income I have no choice to offer them anything else . Going to the dollar store to buy my own cleaning products so I can at least make some food and have one clean spot for my kids to eat if I was offered some kind of hospitality or at least an apology for my stay it would make it so much better but they treat you like your out of your mind to want what your paying for and offer no compensation or compassion this trip is the worst one in history please take my advice and Do not bring your family here if your expecting a clean environment or any hospitality and I also have a dead cockroach right in the middle of my room I don’t even think they swept from the last three guest stays I just want to get somewhere to shower myself and children and pray to god I’m not bringing bugs home with us because I will be kicked out of my apartment and I will never be able to afford everything that comes along with getting rid of cockroaches. I pray somebody will see this and contact me with a different extended stay that is clean and safe for us and give me two nights at that extended stay or more to make this trip better for me and my family but from the treatment I’ve been receiving I’m not holding my breath . If by chance somebody want to make this right please contact me and I will be so happy to update my review with you doing the right thing other then that I can’t recommend that anyone spends a dollar to stay in these conditions"

"Room was filthy, there was a blood stain on the wall, cockroaches, other bugs, smell of Marijuana permeated the entire building. I don't expect luxury accommodation for this price, but a clean, comfortable non-weed room isn't too much to ask for. Staff was friendly."

"Rooms are nasty have roaches missing draws. Extra loud tenants. I pray to GOD my place will be ready in the next few days. Hell I’m scared to even cook at all. This grand view location just awful people."

"The entire staff was absolutely amazing! Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Both the maintenance and office staff. However, the infestation of roaches is abhorrent and traumatizing. They’re everywhere. The hallways, the elevators and of course the rooms. This realization made it impossible for me to attain my goal of saving money by cutting cost on eating out and cooking at the place I paid to stay."

"I was in room 117. They are pet friendly. They don't have do not disturb signs for the doors, but if you ask them not to go in your room, because of your animal, they won't, or they didn't with me.. The room was okay. I can't say it was clean, because the walls were pretty dirty, the bathtub was not very clean either. The room reaked of cigarette smoke, normally cigarette smoke doesn't bother me. But when I'm smelling it for a very long time, it starts to get to me. And I understand that it could be because the wall are thin and it's seeped in from outside or if there are any smoking rooms there, it can travel. I understand that... there was no table lamps in the room I was in, just all over head lights. The bed had some little specks of dirt here and there, but we didn't find any bed bugs. My mom did see a roach, so might want to be on the lookout for that. Other than that though, it was a decent stay. Would I go back? Probably not. But for a roof over my head and water to take showers in, it wasn't terrible."
