Holiday Inn Express & Suites Olathe North, an IHG Hotel

"The staff here was A+. Clean room, facility was very nice. Housekeeping even made our daughter's travel bed and folded her blanket, which was a super caring and nice touch!"

"We are passing thru and picked a king room with jacuzzi. The lobby is very inviting. Very Welcoming lobby. We were quickly checked in. The handicap parking is near the door but the doors do not have automatic opening. Tricky to push luggage rack thru. Also be aware the elevator is kind of disguised with pictures on it. Very different. Our room was clean, well lit and bed very comfortable. The Jacuzzi tub for two enjoyable. We chose dinner nextdoor at Johnny's Italian steakhouse. It is upscale and romantic. Enjoyed our meal."

"Rooms could use some TLC. For $200/night (1 king bed w/ jacuzzi tub), I would have expected it to be a little more updated. Shower curtain rod was also very loose and about ready to fall off. When we turned the shower on, a bunch of black stuff came out of the head. Guess it hadn’t been run in some time? Also the TV is pretty barebones. Local channels only. Staff were very friendly at least."

"Only a 2 day stay. Room and overall building was clean. Nice indoor pool was inviting. Down stairs ice maker out of order. Third floor ice maker working. Hallway and lobby vary warm air-conditioning was not working. Inturn, breakfast was good but in a warm area. Orange juice was great on the first day. The dispenser was broken on the second day. Lots of maintenance issues are going on here. The location was awesome. Wide variety of restaurants within walking distance."

"The rooms are very dated and one can tell that over the years, it hasn't been well kept. The current housekeeping seems to be doing a fine job, but they can't perform miracles on what has already been damaged. The carpet looks dirty, etc. It really needs a remodel. However, my room was okay. It had a slight smell that one expects from musty carpets. A bit disappointing. There wasn't a lot of places to sit stuff, like in the newer Holiday Inn Express hotels. Same goes for the lighting; there is 3 lamps and that's it other than the entry light. And one can't turn on the bathroom light without a loud fan coming on too. Newer ones have two separate switches. I stayed alone, but had I had a guest, it'd wake the dead going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The lobby and pool area are gorgeous and inviting. I probably would've rated higher if the hot tub had been working. That was a huge bummer. The surrounding area is busy but didn't seem dangerous. I felt comfortable sitting outside, day and night. They do have a more varied breakfast than any other Express I've stayed in, though. Overall, I'd stay again if the hot tub is working. But they could definitely take a couple of days to work on that smell and those carpets. It'd do a world of good for the overall experience."
