Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kearney, an IHG Hotel

"Had dog hair covering the floor and a dead bug that I used a tissue to throw away so I wouldn’t have to walk on it getting out of bed. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Must have been overlooked"

"We are a family of 6. We had 2 queens and a sofa bed. The rooms and the hotel itself all looked pretty clean. I always check mattresses for bedbugs ( you never know) and the mattresses and bedding were all in great shape. I like that they have soft and firm pillows. And they had Dove hair and skin products not the cheap stuff. They had a good size bench for your luggagge where I was able to place my large and medium luggage. I was able to open and go thru our clothes without having to unpack. The only thing I found missing that I needed was the freezer part of the fridge. I had a medicine that I kept in a lunchbag and I needed to refreeze the ice pack. But I'm sure they would have helped me with that had I asked. The breakfast bar was also all very clean and organized. Food was good."

"Excellent! I've stayed at various Holiday Inn Express locations, probably close to one hundred stays by now. This one is the best of all the locations I've visited. The staff was very personable and helpful. The rooms are like new and very clean. Only complaint is the shower doesn't put out enough water, but I'll get over that because of all the other upsides. Also, the breakfast included bacon every morning, and it was real bacon, not the see through stuff most HIE locations serve. We've stayed here three times, and we'll definitely stay here next time we are in the area."

"First don't expect construction of the rooms to be pleasing to the eye. The contractor obviously did not know what he was doing. It cost 32000 points to stay one night. Double what I paid in a resort in NY. The lady who checked me in was awesome. It good for a clean bed but that's about it. Don't recommend staying longer then one night. Holiday inns in KC area are not up to par in the other states. I will be writing about the stay in KC stadium Holiday inn next and others."

"This is an attractive hotel, but the first thing to note is that it is perpendicular to the interstate. You should try and book the lowest number rooms in any floor (00/01) to get as far away from the road noise as you can. There a safe in the room, but no freezer element in the mini frig, and very little bathroom counter space. The breakfast fare is above average, and a nice outdoor patio with two propane fired grills complements an indoor pool that needs better ventilation to get the heavy chlorine smell out of the air. In sum, there are pluses and minuses here, but it's a decent stop, especially if you want to clear KC northbound on 35 and then get off the road."
