Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kansas City Ku Medical Center, an IHG Hotel

"Very nice rooms, comfortable beds. The outlets lost power a couple times in the middle of the night, causing the sound machine we had on for our infant to randomly turn off. The staff were present and somewhat helpful but not very friendly. If you’re needing to do anything at KU Med, it’s the best spot for you as it’s right across the street, however, if I were back for anything else, I’d search for a different hotel."

"We were for the coldest game in Chiefs history. The rooms were quiet and warm. The day we were to check out my truck decided it was too cold stranding us there. I told them the situation and they quickly found us a room. Knowing I was stressed beyond belief they gave us the hospital discount. It helped take a load off my mind. They are on our places to stay list when we come back to KC!"

"My dad and brother stayed here after the one of the coldest NFL games of all time and came back at around 11pm to find that there was no heat! The wind chill was -28. They did not switch them rooms, provide refunds, or give them extra blankets. That is extremely dangerous and they are lucky to be alive. The plug hole the heater belonged in was burnt. Not only this, but they have had the worst customer service."

"I absolutely love this hotel! My husband and I have stayed here on several occasions while he has had to have surgery. The staff is always amazing. The hotel is SPOTLESS. And the convenience to the hospital is unmatched! A yummy continental breakfast as well! We will never stay anywhere else!"

"As a hotel advertised as being near a hospital, I would assume the staff has had training in compassion. Checking in we were asked the reason for our visit and we stated family in the ICU. We were placed in a room next to the large group of women that when checking in before us reported they were going to a Pink concert. As expected they were drunk and roaming the halls eating Taco Bell at 1am. When we called to change rooms, the night staff on 10/27 was extremely rude and reported it wasn’t his fault we could hear noise and that we didn’t have a working tv. He even gave us a fake name when we stated that his service was uncalled for and we would like to speak with a manager. I will state, the security guard was kind and asked if we needed him to ask the women to quiet down or if there was anything he could do to help. We were eventually given another room but never got anything in the form of an apology from the facility. We have unfortunately stayed at many hotels connected with hospitals over the past few years and have always been met with kindness and compassion from staff. The facility was in good proximity to the hospital, clean, had good options for food nearby, but unfortunately the building was not well built and the walls being so thin allows you to hear all conversations occurring in the rooms next to you. I would not recommend staying here if you are there for a hospital admit."
